I have watched several games this year in which a play should have been reviewed and was either not reviewed at all or a coach had to call a timeout to get the play looked at.

Replay officials and review are in place to get the calls RIGHT. I don't see this happening enough.

What are some solutions to this problem?

I say they give the coaches 4-5 challenges, and don't punish them for wanting plays reviewed. As bad as the current system is that's in place, this is the only way they get the calls right.

1. Change the rules of replay to "allow" them to get the call right.

2. Fine them heavily for wrong calls.

3. Fire/Fine them extra heavy for calls that are wrong and then upheld when using replay.

You start digging into people's pockets and firing their asses, they will start getting them right more often than not.

I'm fine with that. It needs to be made public knowledge as well.

Yes and yes.

What platform would we use to decide on the fate of these calls though? The SEC office? That will go over well.

I would think it would need to be some type of independent review, not just SEC, but NCAA sanctioned.

One thing we can all agree on is every team outside of Tuscaluza is getting shite on equally.

Officials need to be consolidated under the NCAA or some other organization with no conference ties.

This will make sure that the "style" of officiating is consistent across all games. It will also make sure there is uniform accountability.

It will also make sure you don't have the perception of bias since they can make sure the crew has zero connection to the schools they're officiating.

it's worse than that though. there have been 2 or 3 calls in lsu games that were reviewed and they STILL got the call wrong.

the problem is it's business. BIG business. refs are told what to do so that the right people make money. case in point, cfb powers freaked out when n ill made it to the orange bowl. they are required to sell 17k tickets. they don't even have 17k fans. lots of rules changes after that. proof that money is running the show. if money weren't running the show, there would never be a "playoff committee" and everything would be above board

I said it in the other thread, but it should be here.

I think ALL of the mikes should 've live during a replay/challenge. There should be a camera in the replay booth and the conversations in the booth and between the refs on the filed and booth should be heard live.

That adds transparency and keeps it more honest. You would be able to actually hear the booth official speaking on what he did or didn't see.
