I think it used to be the SEC felt picked on by the national media

This is correct

Not just the media, but other schools and other conferences and the rest of the country in general. NCAA had a lot of anti SEC bias in the 50's, 60's, and 70's

Going back 100 years the South was just as good or better athletes but they were always deemed inferior (probably more population outside the South and they were biased to their own people and regions).

Because of this the SEC had to bond with each other to fight everybody else.

quote:

now that we have had some success we are fighting over the spoils like rich kids do when their parents pass.

This is the canary in the coal mine moment. We ere strong to fight the bullies but if we take for granted that which made us, we will lose it and probably enjoy less success.

Still do……especially the bowl games….even pull for the Aggies if they would ever play a bowl game.

I still do. Even for LSU.

When we entered the conference, LSU was actually my favorite SEC team. They I got to know the fanbase here.

But I still support them in non-conference games.

Those days are gone. Chants of SEC - gone. I will be pulling against all of you and don't feel bad about it, because I know you will be doing the same. Time was when we would pull for each other, well, except for The Aggies.

What changed?

I root for all sec teams except for UF and UA.
It's always a metldown when UA lose and UF just sucks.

conference has been diluted:

ill always root against missouri and texam.

and then i got bama burnout.

and then ugga fans became more insufferable than usual.

so this year i guess its tcu or nothin.

frick off, you’re the problem because you don’t know shite.

I want exactly 1 team to lose regardless of who they play, that’s the stinking Vols. Pretty sure they feel exactly the same.

I wouldn’t be upset if the barn beat Notre Dame, Overrated State, Michigan or Texas. Unless it was for the title….can’t have that. I expect most of their fans think of a few teams they won’t mind seeing us drag around the stadium as long as it’s not for the title.

The rest I want to see win their bowl games. Georgia fans will be insufferable, but when you win the title you get to talk shite to everyone, goes with the trophy. Still want to see them run Overrated State out of the building and make Harbaugh cry.

In all seriousness, when A&M and Mizzou joined the conference, they brought their Big XII mentally of everyone hating everyone else and trying to get everyone else investigated by the NCAA before the NCAA could look at their own infractions first. Immediately after joining the SEC, Mizzou began pushing the rest of the conference universities to turn "woke" and then won those two SEC East titles while A&M's Manziel beat Bama and won the Heisman, and then this message board quickly began to spiral downward and became absolutely unbearable under their prideful hate. It has never been the same peaceful place since.

SEC chants being gone is a good thing. Although that was usually reserved for the Mississippi States and South Carolinas of the world.

You redneck southern hillbillies realize SEC Chant originated from the last SWC Arkansas Mbb team and our ran base began chanting it. We brought it up. Y'all still talking about it. What has SOUTH CAROLINA brought?

You're proud of dickriding other teams and mad bc we don't? Weird flex but go off, I guess.
