Remember those glorious times when college football ended on Jan 1?

I like the playoff structure, but I just can't stand this drizzling out of games until January 11th. New Year's Day used to be this wonderful day loaded with great football games, and the season ended. Now you have the two semifinals competing with New Year's eve activities (WTF is that?), followed by a day of good teams playing irrelevant bowl games, and then a week and a half of nothing until the championship.
I haven't seen a wonderful thing turned to meh like this since the Star Wars prequels.

Actually you've got it flipped - my sex life was meh for years until I got divorced last year.

i agree though. the playoffs should be the entree of bowl season not the appetizer. weird watching the sugar and fiesta the day after the national championship game is set into place

Exactly. Watching teams like Ole Miss, Ohio State, and Iowa play their bowl games would be more interesting if we watched them while we were still unsure who the best two teams were.

playing the semi-finals on new year's would be infinitely better.
I don't give a damn about celebrating new year's, but I know those games are cramping a lot of people's style.
also, new year's used to be about great, big and meaningful football games. the games should go in order of importance. there were still a lot of crappy games on after New Year's.
it started falling apart with the BCS when they started stringing the games out over the week.
I want to watch the games while we're off work for the holidays, not during a work night.

NYE games were stupid.
Didn't even watch Bama-MSU.
Since the Rose Bowl always has to be at a certain time. Play one playoff game at 1, then have the Rose Bowl, then play the 2nd game at 8.

Seeing how you identify as a Navy man, I understand your obsession with another mans sex life. I bet you're just busting at the seams with Barry's new policies.
