Seriously? LSU fans are a joke

Worst game was Arkansas (2 catches for 22 yards and 0 TD's).

Other than that, we held him to his lowest reception total against Divisional opponents. We also held him to his lowest receiving yards total against Divisional opponents (again, excluding the Arkansas game; way to go Flagshippers).

Now he was shut out of the TD department against Ole Miss and Arkansas, but otherwise?

I'd say that running a 3rd string CB against a 1st Team All American WR who just broke several of Julio Jones career and single season receiving yardage and overall receiving records at Alabama is pretty ballsy.

Having that 3rd string CB hold Cooper beneath his average yardage total versus Divisional opponents (108 yards per game vs. SEC West, we held him to 83) while actually hitting his average number of receptions per game against Divisional opponents means-at least to me anyway-that:

He had the same number of catches but lower yards, meaning his catches were less impactful on the game itself. Chunk plays (15-20 yard gains) are what pro-style offenses thrive on. He had one in that game. Other than that, he had 7 catches for 60 yards. Hardly an impact performance against us, though I'll give you that his TD was a very important play in that game.

But to act like we didn't do an effective job on him when you compare his season statistics and averages against other Divisional opponents is the joke here.

Within the context of what he did this year versus what we did against him-using a 3rd string cornerback without bracketing coverage over the top and going man under on him all night long-that was not only a gutsy scheme decision, it's one that absolutely worked.

We did what no other team could do against him. Why you're debating or laughing at that to me is somewhat arrogant. You outlasted us on the road. It was a great win and he played well all things considered. But laughing and mocking posts like my earlier one are what gives you a bad reputation as a fanbase.

Give worthy opponents their due. You may beat them but that doesn't mean they didn't rise to your challenge, brah.

Nobody can single cover Cooper. I doubt Richard Sherman will in the NFL. You can bracket him with 2 players but Kiffin doesn't make that very easy with all the formations he'll throw at you. If you put too many out in coverage TJ and Henry will have a field day. Our game against the pigs was our worst game of the year. We played Ole Piss better and we were on an emotional low after the loss on a cold and rainy day. Blake Sims had his worst game by far and missed a lot of throws. I don't think that was Cooper's fault.

LSU did as well as anyone this year. But he did still end up with 83 yards on 8 catches, less than his yearly and SEC Division total.

Richard Sherman doesn't shadow receivers the way that a Patrick Peterson or Joe Haden do in the NFL. He plays exclusively on one side or the other. Heck, Odell Beckham Jr got bracketed coverage against the Seahawks-the ultimately copliment to a receiver in the NFL-and still went over the top of both Sherman and Conley. He finished with 100+ yards. I think they're easily capable of being exposed without the benefit of the hand-checking and grabbing they previously got away with as a Secondary prior to this year.

Kiffin is a very good coach. We didn't bracket him. Played man under all night and left our 3rd CB on an island and held him to a "relatively" pedestrian day, which he still had 8 grabs, 80+ yards and a score.

We didn't have to and completely stopped your running game. For 59:10 anyway

Looks that way statistically now that I'm reviewing the box score. You guys scored three times in regulation against us but for the most part 10 points all night was a close 2nd. I agree with you overall though.

Against Arky perhaps, but he did make a lot of critical drops which could've impacted the game in a major way against LSU.

Cooper was just not motivated against LSU and Arkansas.

8....8 receptions.

Good lord, he's gonna be 7th string if we keep talking about this for a few more hours.

Y'alls secondary is really good, and did a good job. But Cooper kept himself from at least 40 more yards by dropping passes with nobody around him.

8 catches for 88 yards and a TD is not shut down unless we are having a discussion about Arena Ball.

Held to his 2nd lowest output? Sure. Shutdown? Yah no.

I've watched most of your games this year and the answer is no, he can't be stopped 1 on 1. We got lucky that he dropped so many balls against us and honestly, that was my knock on him. But watched him a few more times and instantly forgot about those drops. Very happy that he will be gone next year.
For the record, I think he is better that Julio but that may just be me. Both are elite.

Should look into what Senquez Golson did to Cooper. I'm honestly not sure. I was drunk as frick at that game. I think Cooper was held scoreless and for only like 92 yards or so. But I'm not sure what our exact gameplan was.

We were all drunk as frick. And it's not something I'm concerned enough about to rewatch that shite show. I'm not a masochist.
