Rebels, do you consider us (as in Bama) to be rivals?

I've seen a lot of OM fans on Twitter acting like this is a true rivalry game and it always has been. I know that these past couple of games have been exciting and we're obviously a high profile opponent, but I didn't know y'all felt this strongly about us. It seems like most of y'all hate us more than LSU or MSU.

So DO y'all consider us to be one of your rivals?

Ole Miss didn't really play Alabama historically for whatever reason. I think we went through a space of 20-30 years there (Vaught and before Bear) when we only played you guys a handful of times. So it's not really an old school rivalry.

Our most heart breaking losses have been to LSU.

And State is historical, and the neighbor vs neighbor, house divided thing.

It's really hard to build up enough moxie for three rivalries. I just think the math doesn't work.

I gotcha, and it really does seem like it's the younger fans who feel this way.

Not a bear, but I would consider Bama and Rebels temporary, short term rivals due to the past two upsets; however I don't really think there is a lot of solid foundation under whatever rivalry does currently exist between the two.

Beating Bama is more High profile but make no mistake beating state is paramount. That is one of the most underrated rivalries in college ball. I went like in 97 and was surprised how intense it was. There was some serious hate. Nothing like brother against brother instate games. There is NOTHING like the feeling that day.

They beat use a couple of other times this century. 2001 they got a late TD to beat us, and Eli took us to the woodshed around 2003 or 2004. Forget which year.

Last time before those I think was 1988.

To be frank (don't call me shirley) I don't think about Alabama but once a year and that's the week that we play them. I used to root for them in bowl games, but I don't even do that any more. I don't root for any other SEC team anymore; it's bad for our recruiting for anybody else to succeed. Screw all y'all.

No. Is considering y'all a rival is like UT trying to consider UF a rival. Except we have had more success than them in the past 10 years.

But seriously we don't win enough for it to be a true rivalry for me. It's just a big game cause y'all are Bama

Too similar to be rivals. Ole Miss is Alabama with 10k less students.

Old school Bama alumn here, but our rivals in this order as of now, (#1 Auburn(in state top 20 all time program. can get up and ruin our Championship dreams on any given year, only team we call out by name during our Rhammer Jammer, everybody else is mascot, if that isn't respect, then I don't know what is. #2UT, (records don't matter, this game is a hard hitting old fashioned slobber knocker, this game traditionally separates the men from the boys, almost always, second best SEC tradition only to their their Daddy, Alabama) #3 LSU ( only because they are usually as talented, but Bama usual beats them on the fundamentals of the game, and they never seem to get it, I suspect they are drunk) #4 Ole Miss, although they have beaten Bama, and Saban 2 straight years, they haven't even really slowed the Tide down, they are simply a drop in the bucket in the big picture, and even when they are good enough to beat Bama, they never ever even matter. Which is why they are so low on Bama's rival list, Before that the last time they got a win was Eli Manning against a probation ridden Tide. As far as Arky and aTm goes, well we (Bama fans in general, like you guys.) You don't make pathetic excuses when you lose, and Arkansas gave us Bear Bryant, and aTm is a place he coached. Bama fans tend to pull for these divisional when not playing Bama, in general of course.
