I think with all the race issues, much like America, the university itself is somewhat divided. After the protest that brought so much national attention to the issue it seems as if there is just some tension across campus including in the locker room.

They have always had a good/great basketball team and coming into the SEC I figure that would be the sport they would compete the best in. However winning the East a couple years in football put them on the right path, but it seems the trajectory is headed downward now.

You can blame the coaches or lack of athletes all you want but they have never had really exceptional recruiting classes but always seemed to make the most of it with the team mentality and not having selfish players.

Mizzou is my 3rd favorite SEC team behind A&M and Arky so this is not dogging them, just want them to do something to turn this downward spiral around.

Whats it going to take Tigers? Cleaning house with coaches? Better recruiters? Some evidence to potential recruits that the race issues is just being blown out of porportion by the media?

Reason 1, the SEC is better than where they came from. Pretty simple.

Auburn does seem to be on an athletic dept wide downward spiral but they will get it back on track to being middle of the pack again.

Mizzou never was anything but a mirage. Their rise and success in the former BIG XII North was due to the retirements of Ozborne at Nebraska, Snyder at K State, and Callahan at Colorado, and all three schools failures at finding adequate replacements as HCs.

Their success in the SEC East is due to Meyer leaving Florida, Tennessee's ongoing trouble with finding a difference maker as a HC, and Georgia being Georgia.

Only when the powers in their division are down do they have success.

Id never go play sports at a school that had the drama like Mizzou had this past fall/winter.

Winning the East their first two years was impressive. But, I agree about their basketball program. I expected them to compete for an SEC championship in basketball.

Kinda like the Aggies. Too many spoiled kids who get a ton of press for the wrong reasons. It always crashes, like the swag copter.
