Was Driskel really that bad? What about the rest of the team? I didn't get to watch the game.

I remember when the option was Bama's antidote. Those were the days.

Do you know what the word antidote means? I don't think you are using it the way you mean to.

He was pretty bad in the first half but did well in the second half.

We have to remember that it's just game two of another new defense. He's had to learn three of them during his time at UF. The rant says JD is dumb so it's pretty amazing that he learned three different offenses.

The only reasons I can think of pertain to the following:
* Bama reads their press clippings, thinks they'll win by 50+ points for just showing up and going through the motions, but they're also flat and uninspired.
* Florida comes in w/a nothing to lose attitude, and catch some lucky breaks along the way (ref calls in their favor & bama turnovers). They would have to believe that this game is their Super Bowl.

I don't really see any of this happening though, just think the gators will get buried at this game.
I am curious as to how many gata faithful will be making the trip to Tuscaloosa.

Driskel appeared like he had 4 red bulls right before the game in the first half. Overthrowing stuff, and throwing too high the long balls.

The second half he settled down, and he is the reason we had a chance to win it at the end of regulation (missed the kick), and the reason we won in over time.

IMO he is average, and doesn't deal well with pressure. I think after he got used to it a little he did much better. He lacks instincts but he is not completely awful.

And I almost made arrangements to go to the trip- I lived in Bham 8 yrs and have plenty of friends, but decided against it. I admit I'm happy we are going to Nashville instead

What about the defense? Was UK really that improved or did UF phone it in on D? Or was it both? Something else?

UK was vastly improved and their overall team speed hasn't been seen in a blue uniform in many years. They are legit and late in the game with overtimes they still had some gas in the tank.

UF did not overlook UK and fought hard with lots of effort...so that wasn't the reason we struggled, they wanted the game badly after hearing a thousand times how its been 196 since they beat us etc etc

Gator defense has some youth in the secondary and at times a few mistakes were made...but its all teachable. On offense our starting LOT was out from last week and we struggled some with multiple changes. Yet we still could run effectively but pass blocking wasn't great.

I fully expect us to go into BDS and whip that azz good. Young Mr Sims will learn what a SEC defense looks like...feels like and tastes like. I expect a qb change after halftime....the crowd will be demanding it. Wont help. When we punt our punter may be flipping the field on yall...he avg 48.7 yesterday. UK to their credit didn't let us crank up our return game.

I think KY's defense is for real, and they have very good kickers. They had us pinned deep in our territory the entire first half. I think they lack depth, and started getting tired for the second half, but they are fast, and aggressive. They will give a lot of teams problems. We moved the ball, and got yardage and I would like to see how we do against other Ds to really have a feel on how improved we are on O. Only two games into a new system, and Jeff has only really played 1.5 yrs as a starter.

...You are one delusional motherfricker! This ain't the Kentucky Wildcats or Georgia Southern y'all are getting ready to line up across from, pal. You'll be playing the University of Alabama Crimson Tide in front of 101,000 of their fans and they'll be waiting on you...trust me, Florida folks won't be happy late Saturday afternoon.

Good info. guys.

As for UK's defense it doesn't surprise me that they might be legit - they had some really good flashes last year on defense (especially earlier in the season - they got worn down a lot as the season progressed and depth/injuries took their toll).

I'm a bit surprised the hear that UF's secondary got burnt so much. It's one game but UF's D has been so completely oppressive the past few years that them getting burnt is well a surprise.

I like how we match up with Bama better than UK, would be surprised if we gave up more than 21, the challenge is going to be scoring points but the offense has looked pretty decent so far and that's with Driskel being coached not to run. I'd say Florida has 35%-40% chance to win.
