Well it more about helping his own interest than anything. He is just using that to make it not seem so. But its what he gets paid to do

Dude.

I don't like Saban either and I'm not shy about that but slamming him for telling recruits the best thing for them is to go the school he's the coach at is pretty silly.

Is that why he advised Julio, Barron, Milliner, Kirkpatrick, Fluker, McClain, Richardson, Hightower, Ingram, and Dareus to come back to school?

If his only agenda was helping his own interests I'd think he'd be begging guys like that to come back, wouldn't you?

Think before you type

If it wasnt self serving why does he want a systematic solution to resolve the problem? So does he want a rule that only Juniors can leave if they make the first round? come on, take off your blinders

And good lord stop acting so defensive. Do you really not think he wants to keep underclassmen for his own agenda?

Could possibly help and has just as much a chance as to hurt, and suggesting to change the players option to choose is wrong. They are adults and should have the right to make that decision for themselves regardless of how wrong they may be.

They have as much right to enter the workforce whenever they decide as anyone else. There is already a 3 year rule in place. That is enough.

btw I am not knocking Saban for his position, I just don't agree with him.

He says whatever he can say to benefit himself regardless of what the facts are.

That is the definition of a liar, by the way.

are you seriously this dumb?

Dude, he changes his tune to whatever suits him. So, fine. Just coach football and spare us the moralizing and commentary on the game itself.

If he wants to lie to benefit his own situation, that's fine. But, if I want to call him on it, I can do that too.

All coaches lie. I get it. None of them are saints and I know that Miles does it too. All programs are crooked and all of them are paying players and anyone who says they aren't are naive.

But, when Saban spews garbage about how it is better for players to stay another year in one interview right after he has spent the whole winter acting like he cared about "player safety" in trying to outlaw the HUNH after his team got beat by it in two straight games, I am going to call him out for being a liar and hypocrite.

Just coach your team and stop all of this.

But, that is my opinion. Bama fans can think what they want.

Allowing juniors to wait until after the Combine and their Pro Day would fix a lot of this.

My point is that Saban spent the whole winter griping about player safety because he can't stop the HUNH and now he wants players to stay and play another year risking injury. He speaks out of both sides of his mouth.

I just gave another example of it.

There are tons of examples.

Yes, all coaches lie. But, why should anyone even ask Saban what he thinks? He will only say what benefits himself and not his player or the game. So, when he talks, I know that his bias is all that he can possibly communicate.

If he can spew his garbage, I can surely point it out.

Like I said, there are examples of Saban advising players to turn pro early. You've got nothing more than an assumption to base this on, when the hard evidence staring back at you says otherwise.

If a kid is a first rounder, he tells them to go. If a kid isn't, he tells them to stay. A man looking out for his own agenda wouldn't tell his most talented players to head to the NFL.

Do I think he realizes it would help Alabama if some of these mid round projections came back? Sure. That doesn't mean he's only looking at it for personal gain though, because it's apparent he's trying to help the individuals as well. Don't know why that's so hard to comprehend.

If a decision is beneficial for two parties, why must you choose one and say "oh he just wants this because it helps him"

You act like it's impossible to have everyone's best interests in mind

Settle down you are going to blow a gasket like usual. I already said I am not blasting him for his position. I don't agree with him on wanting to make changes that may hinder a person to seek employment.

I am positive you wouldn't want anyone dictating when you could seek employment in your desired field of work as an adult. Right?

Why do you think it's better for kids to leave early and not get drafted where they could have been, thus losing money. What about a kid who doesn't get drafted at all. I think you are just trolling because I can't see how Sabans opinion on this would upset anyone.

what I've gathered out of this thread so far is Saban wants his juniors to return so they can get hurt as a seniors. If they're not hurt by a certain game Saban will hurt them himself with his trusty "knee buster".

I can almost agree with this, but an agent can help a kid raise his exposure to a team with that agent working behind the scenes on his behalf.

Just because I type in caps doesn't mean I'm "blowing a gasket" You need to try and stay on topic and quit reaching. I'd love to have a boss that tells me what to do. Sometimes you have to do shite you don't want to do at work(crazy right). If you want to fight me we can arrange something this evening at a local sonic.

Right it can work both ways, but that should be the players choice at that time. There is already a three year rule in place to help a kid mature, grow, and improve. There shouldn't be another rule in place to hinder an adult to seek employment should he choose to.

I get Saban's position, I just don't agree with it.

That would mean you already have a job and exercised your right to choose. This has nothing to do with what I said.

btw if you can make it to the Sonics in Colorado Springs I will be arriving there around 6pm.
