I don't think he questioned that.

Might not be all that close either.

It's worked pretty well against Auburn.

There are head coaches in the NFL that don't like the limelight.

Also, he's said before he wants to be a DC. That's it.

He speaks to Touchdown Clubs and Booster groups.

Rarely, and by all accounts gives very minimal and to the point answers. On the field, in contrast, he's rarely seen not screaming his head off. The guy just likes coaching defense a whole lot, and he's the best in the country at it. All the rest is just some shite he has to put up with. Your own head coach is exactly the same way.

shite, and Muschamp before that. Outside of the co-mistake of '08, we have had a good run.

Dude is pretty media awkward from I've seen of him on camera.

I don't think he's awkward at all. He's just straightforward. In that way, he's sort of like Saban, but Chavis is more cordial. Saban will get after the media's arse for asking stupid questions.

To me he has done an amazing job with the defense at LSU and deserves a ton (or a majority) of credit for their success.

Completely agree. He is an elite DC.

LSU is set at coordinator, thankfully, for a long time.

The only thing that could mess it up would be a Chavis heart attack or an NFL HC position calling Cam...other than that, neither are going anywhere and me - along with other LSU fans - are thrilled with the possibility of long-term stability at the coordinator position. And not just "so-so/decent" coordinators, these guys are the best in the Biz. Usually you have to worry about a top-notch coordinator having success and moving on to a college HC job, fortunately we have two awesome coordinators that just happen given the circumstances to have no interest in leaving LSU for another college position... Chavis with no desire to become a HC will likely retire along with Miles in 5-10 years. And Cameron, Miles' best friend, aint going anwyhere with an NFL HC opportunity being the only exception.

Chavis has it good...Let Miles reel the talent in, and he gets pretty much full autonomy over a D typically stocked with NFL talent.

Cameron, on the other hand, is just having fun coaching alongside his longtime buddy Miles and bringing some NFL expertise to these developing college kids.

Yeah, that's apparent by how many left and are now head coaches at other big time programs now.
