So my Vikes picked both of those guys and I have some questions for you hawg fans

1. What do see Wright's role as?

2. Do you think Childs can come back from his knee injury?

2a. Can Childs be a #1 WR in the NFL?

1. Slot and return guy.

2. Yes. He was close to 100% finally in the Cotton Bowl and he finally looked like the Childs of old.

3. If he stays healthy there is not a doubt in my mind that he can be a #1.

Hard to say with Wright, he is very fast and has good hands. He will most likely be streaking across the middle of the field. His size is will be his biggest handicap.

Childs could be a stud, and could be the steal of the draft. He looked pretty timid coming off his injury early this year, but looked better towards the end of the season. The coaches admitted he never was a full 100% last season.

Childs is the prize. If he hadn't hurt his knee last year he would have been a 1st round/high 2nd round guy then. He was so dominant when he got hurt. I think he is the only WR I have seen recently abuse the Bama DB's. If he can stay healthy then he is going to look like a hell of a steal.

I was pissed when the Vikings got both these guys. Great pickups, now I have to hate the Vikings a little less

The Vikings WR coach is a former Hog.

Wright is the ultimate team player who goes all out on every play. He loves making blocks for other receivers/RB's down field. He's strong for his size, and extremely fast. The guy just gets open and makes plays, very reliable.

He's back IMO. He's going to do some serious damage in the NFL if he has a good QB to get him the ball. Height, strength, speed, and ability to make acrobatic catches - everything you could ask for in a WR.

Returns, reciever in the nickel offense

yes

Define # 1 Maclin had more grabs in Philly does that make him # 1 over DeSean Jackson ?

Those 2 made Casey Dick look like a pretty good QB, that's good enough for anybody. Vikes fans should be happy with these 2, they are nasty blocking on the run and downfield too, should help Peterson out as well.

1. I love Wright, but I don't know if he'll be the #1 guy. Great slot guy with speed and excellent route running ability though. Size definitely leaves something to be desired.

2. I would hope so. He looked good in the Cotton Bowl, but I would like to see him back a bit more healthy before I say he's completely back.

2a. I'm not sure. He's got great size (not as freakishly big as Larry Fitzgerald or Calvin Johnson), but decently big. However, his top speed isn't phenomenal, but it's decent. I think he'll be a phenomenal possession receiver, but #1 receiver still remains to be seen.

That being said, both players are VERY intelligent and know football quite well. If they can't out-talent the competition, they can definitely out-work them.

Why hasn't JJ been signed yet? According to LSU fans he is better than Andrew Luck.

You dipshit, not one tBeaconer outside of a Dale Denton flame mentioned any Arkansas player as a first rounder. The best any of us said was Joe Adams in the 2nd.

You want some comedy? The Giants GM said something to the effect that a main reason for drafting Randle was that he can run the entire route tree... what WR can't? LSU's route tree was more like a sapling.

The worse thing for the Arkansas WR's in this draft is going to teams that have Cam Newton and Christian Ponder throwing to them. I have far more faith in Cam's throwing than Ponder's.

I never read that on this board.

Man oh man I wish some LSU fans would get a grip. Saban never said this. Some LSU players were saying this after OU was beaten handily in their CCG and before BCS CG. This smack talk was kind of surprising before game but the players really had little respect for Sooners. Saban himself spoke coachspeak, which does not include putting down a future opponent. As far as Hog receivers...under Petrino they are very good. The O-line run blocking and the overall D has been the problem, not Arkansas skill players.

I'd like to know why Crow Pie hasn't chimed in on this to remind us that neither of these WR's won the SEC or a National Championship while at Arkansas.

Wright, as been covered a completely unselfish player. Will go over the middle, will block, and has great hands.

Childs is an amazing talent. The only thing I didn't like about Childs was he'd make a one handed grab and drop a screen pass at times. Joe had the dropsies sometimes too. Childs can absolutely be a #1 guy.

Sugar Bowl. The drops lost that game more than the scoop no score punt block.

After that game I gave the WR's the moniker the "Droppy McDropersons"
