Peyton Barber would be the #1 RB in WDE24's top 5 RB rankings

I would put Kentuckys RB in there and bump out LF. The kid is averaging like 10 ypc

Good point. But if he doesn't break the 75 yarder, he is at about 170 yards on 23 carries.

Could argue either side. Why a two game sample isn't a lot to work off of.

Why leave out the leaders in rushing TD's?

1. Derrick Henry 6TDs
2. Jalen Hurd 4 TDs
3. Leonard Fournette 3 TDs

Can't wait til Miles actually lets Harris throw the ball. Saturday Fournette averaged 5.7 ypc on some old school shite. Zero passing game to speak of after the first quarter, yet he was still killing it.

After watching him, I see no reason why he couldn't average 130 per game on 18-20 carries going forward. In a 12 game season (including his stats from Miss st and a bowl game) that would put him at 226-248 carries 1586 yards (6.4-7.0 ypc) and 19.5 TDs if you give him a 1.5 TD average going forward.

That may not be best in the conference and certainly not heisman, but it would arguably be the best rushing season in LSU history since it would;

1) tie the single season TD record (I'm using 19 instead of 19.5 for obvious reasons)
2) be only a hundred less than the single season rushing yardage record on at least 63 less carries
3) 2nd in ypc single season record (min 200 carries)

No LSU back is top 3 in those categories for a single season, let alone top 2. Fournette would be the first if it were to happen. Would put him tied for 1st in TDs, 2nd in rushing, and 2nd in ypc in a single season.

I still feel like he's being undersold. I mean, going back to last season, he had like 18 rushes for 127 yards and 2 TD's vs Louisville in our last game.

Also, another stat I seen on Boom:

Last four games in which Boom Williams got more than five carries: 466 yards (9.1 per carry), 4 TD

Peyton Barber seems like a good dude. Good to see him earn that top spot in AUs rotation. He looks much bigger and better than Roc Thomas. I think Kenny Irons is a good comparison, and not just based on what the board has said about Barber's intellect. Rudi Johnson also comes to mind.

Boom Williams is legit. He isn't Henry etc., but his value to our team is the same.
