Cause Alabama owns the officials! SEC office needs to be in Baton Rouge! It isn't fair that LSU implodes every year to Alabama! The last four meetings are because of refs and SEC scheduling!

They've been bad in both long before Shaw.
Ritter and his crew damn near made the UK/MSU game this weekend unwatchable reviewing virtually every catch in the first half. And then completely defying the "must be sufficient video evidence" part of replay by overturning calls without sufficient video evidence because they fricked it up so bad in real time.
When the rules allow for that much leeway for a ref in making a call, it's going to be a shitshow with the current crop of college officials. It's not just an SEC issue unfortunately.

I've been watching for years and have yet to see a bad call. If there is an award for perfection, these guys should get it.

Caught Finebaum on College Football Live, having given up on his show last summer, and he actually said that Ritter's crew is the best in the country...country, that the league's grading & evaluating process kept only the best refs working, but then said "I know Steve Shaw personally, he's a good friend and I know he runs the best officiating program in the league". Not fan of any conspiracy BS but the league's refs are horrible, across the board.

First, Most all fans believe their conference officials are terrible. If two fans of opposing teams watch the same game, each fan will see the majority of calls going against their team. There might be a few that a fan will see their team getting a break.
I don't think the SEC refs are any worse than any of the other power 5 conferences.
Also, I don't believe in basketball there are SEC refs, but they are independent and will officiate games in multiple conferences.
