It's cool that they have them here.. but Auburn has really been hammered from Academia problems in the last 10 years.. I almost feel like they should at least be below Mizzou.

What I never understand about these rankings is there were multiple people from my high school(CHS-BR) that did not get into LSU who would go to BAMA in order to still be at a big SEC school. So I always assumed LSU was better but I guess I was mistaken.

Even though their ranking isn't good, I've seen Ole Miss connections everywhere in DC. That'll open up some doors.

US News' Univerisity rankings is the most bogus list around. How does one accurately rank the academics of a University? Especially, at the large Public Univ. level.

Spoken just like someone who's University ranks 8th in the SEC...

Everyone has convenient stories like this.

I happen to know 8 people from high school that couldn't get into Bama so they settled for Harvard instead.

If I am applying for a nice job in a high rise in New York, LA, Chicago, etc., the only SEC school that will make anyone care is Vandy. After that it is a bunch of state schools where the difference in the #50 ranking and the #150 ranking means jack shite.

Truth. Aggy needs to get out of the Lone Star State to see no one gives two shits about aTm academics

What are you talking about??? Auburn has consistently been in the rankings.. Our graduates out earn Bama grads, etc...

I know 4 people personally, that went to Alabama because they did not get into Tennessee.

In-state admission standards have really jumped at UT, since we've implemented the HOPE scholarship.

I'm not saying Tennessee is better than Alabama, or vice versa. But I am saying, US News and World Reports college rankings are bogus.

When it comes to public schools, there are very few where an undergrad degree is seen as prestigious. Cal, Michigan, UVA, and thats about it except for certain degrees at certain places like engineering at GaTech.

Depends on the degree.
LSU's Vet School, Pet.Eng. and Landscape Architecture programs do not take a back seat to any university's in the world, all ranked #1 currently or in recent past.
LSU also has a brand new Hurricane Engineering curriculum that is unique.

Why do Hogs feel the need to talk about A&M everytime we are brought up?
You guys are the most insecure fanbase I have ever seen, and we just left a conference that had Baylor in it.

Other than the WSJ article posted, which didn't even have Arkansas in the top 25. Arkansas even got beat out by Texas Tech ( ).

Actually it appears to be true. LSU students have higher ACT & SAT scores than Alabama students. But, that does not mean BAMA isn't a better school. It just means it is slightly easier to get into. No big deal. BAMA average scores LSU average scores

No doubt.

Until visiting this board, I had no idea the Hogs felt so much enmity towards Texas A&M University. It's been a big revelation for me. I'm thinking their hatred for the ladies in Austin has been misplaced somehow.

I've always thought of Arkansas as a good school/former SWC rival/etc. Wild.

Whatever. Onward.
