plus having a QB like Stafford and a WR like AJ Green = giant numbers.

Just out of curiosity, can you give us the medians for these? I think that would be more comparative across the board

Yes, I can't wait for the day sometime 50 years from now when the NCAA has gone through the whole court process of appeals to the point that they are finally forced to pay student athletes, Greg is going to get the last laugh from his grave as UGA pays its players the same amount as every other program based on a set scale that doesn't bankrupt the whole system, thereby rendering all those reserves totally moot. You think we're not proactive? We're totally thinking ahead!

That's quite a gap between the Big 1 and everyone else.

If LF and Adams are picked as high as most projections, we will close some of that gap with you guys =)

No - because the biggest salaries are the 2nd contract, which UGA has about 12 of right now.

The gap exists because of a franchise QB and elite OL and WR. Tennessee had this gap before Manning retired.

Two 2017 draft picks won't do anything to close a gap, even if they preform at or above draft projections, until they see a second contract. And that's five years from now. The entire landscape may be different then.

Good point. Ok then, Odell Beckham (2017 - 3.3 mill cap hit, 1.8 mill cash) and Jarvis Landry (2017 - 1.1 mill cap hit, 900k cash) will be in their last year of their 4 year deals. Those two will probably get a raise =)

Texas A&M should move up next offseason in a big way. Both Jake Matthews and Mike Evans are up for new contracts.

They will have a top paid Edge Rusher, QB, LT, and WR. Von Miller, Tannehill, Matthews, and Evans alone will be around $80m

Trai Turner will get a huge raise after back-to-back pro bowls. Back up qbs make pretty good money too, so Mett should be bringing in more $ too

Yep. LSU and Alabama will continue to have the recent stretch of guys reach their 2nd deals and some of Georgia's big guys are about to fall off.

I'd guess Beckham will get something like 4 years / $65-70M.

Probably at least as much as Antonio Brown did this year, and basing a year later bump probably around 4 years / $70M. Will be curious what his guaranteed money is. Brown's was only $19M compared to Julio getting $35.5M and Dez getting $32M.

Landry will probably get something like 4 years / $45M, in line with guys like Emmanuel Sanders, Doug Baldwin, Keenan Allen. Solid #1s or very good #2s, but not superstars per say.
