Probably cause it says QBR right next to the rating

Damn ESPN for trying to hijack already existing acronyms.

its way to early to look at QBR when pretty much no one has played a tough opponent and QBR only goes up to 100 so that's passer rating which is a terrible stat

That makes sense for the old-school styles of offense, but for teams like TAMU, whose short passing game is just an extension of the run game, the number doesn't tell the whole story.

Jake Coker. He didn't throw an incomplete pass the whole game.

Is it possible to wait after 3 or 4 more games to start something like this. The rant never ceases to amaze me.

I don't think there is a single statistic that tells the whole story. You just have to understand what each statistic is measuring and always keep it in context.

I don't know the complete formula, but I know yards per passing attempt figures into the old quarterback rating. Jennings is much higher than Kenny Hill in that category

If our receivers keep dropping 5+ passes a game, Brandon Allen needs an ongoing * by his numbers.

Worley threw 3 tds with no picks and 270 yards with 70% completion. He did not have the second worse performance last week sorry

He'd have been better off going 1-10 for 90 yards and a TD.

Extrapolating that out for 60 passes and you got 540 yards 6 TDs and no picks!

I don't fully, but they clearly are designed to place an emphasis on efficiency. Yards per pass appears to be a highly valued component of the rating.

Yeah, and the passer rating is strictly a rating of passing efficiency.

Jennings gets a higher rating than Hill purely because he generated more passing yards and touchdowns per passing attempt than Hill. 60 attempts for Hill vs. 21 attempts for Jennings.

So a QB who comes in for one play and throws an 80 yard TD is going to have a great passing rating.

You can plug the numbers in yourself and check the math here:

Considering Dak played arguably the worst football team that suited up in America thus far in 2014, I'm not sure you can place him in the rankings yet. And since he plays the other worst team this weekend, you still can't. And then since they play a team that barely qualifies as FBS the week after, you still can't.

Once Mississippi State plays someone that's even considered a football team will be September 20th against LSU. And then we'll all together watching that glorified fullback try to play against actual SEC competition.

For what it's worth, Dak is a superman against teams that deserve to be in the FCS. And he's hella good holding him out all year until the final quarter of the Egg Bowl. Besides those two situations, Dak's QB'ing ability is

Kenny Hill was the best in my eyes. You can't argue with those results. I would take JJ out. He played better than most but he isn't a starter. Marshall would basically take his place.

Blake Sims was middle of the pack.
