LSU finished higher in yards per game and scoring than aTm did last year.
The sad part is the A&M offense basically did not play the last half of the year and LSU only ended up 20 yards per game better with perhaps your best offensive player in history.
You need to set your standards a little higher

The only reason I responded with that was his initial post had aTm and OM, not just OM. He was quick on the edit.
I was just making a point.

I don't think we'll finish that low because Enos seems to be pretty legit as an OC but I definitely get the reasoning behind it and am cool with the ranking.
Losing a 3 year starter at QB, top 2 RBs, potential 1st round TE, and what your best 3 OL? That's HUGE for even the best coordinators to overcome. Y'all may be fine come November, but the struggle bus is going to running in Fayetteville early on for sure.

Didn't a TE finish with the 5th most reception this year?

Threads like this are what make the offseason great

TE?

Not used in the LSU offense so that isn't factored in to the comparison.
Neither is the QB nor WRs...........

I can see, and to be honest expect, a drop off from the Hogs next year on offense. We did lose quite a few skilled players.
But LSU as the best offensive team in the West? Really?
Look... hypothetically LSU has a shot to be the best offense in the West and one of the best in the country.
Hypothetically.
For LSU, right now, a middle of the pack ranking for West in offense would be wonderful. I'm just not sold on them being an offensive juggernaut.
Lets not forget, for all the guff the conference gets, we had some extremely potent offenses last year.

There will be a little bit of adjustment but the only really concerning lost is QB and maybe OL. Enos did a great job with Brandon last year so I expect him to get the next QB as ready as possible.

I'd take Ole Miss' QB, WRs and TE's over LSU's.
Also, Arkansas loses a lot, but don't say "top two RBs" because JWill isn't a loss as he was not part of this year's offense.

Oh wow, the obligatory "put State last" again
Posted on 3/10/16 at 3:15 pm to Reservoir dawg
Just wondering where would you put State?

True have heard a bunch of people say this. We return our 2nd and 3rd string who all got a signicant amount of carries and Rawleigh Williams would of had even more if not for the injury.

It's just the principle. I'd have us #5 or #6..and that's being very conservative. We won't be last.

I'm generally pessimistic when it comes to our offense, but I think that if Barnett is competent and his skill set is what everyone says it is that we will have the most explosive, deep offense that we have had in a long time.

Believe bama will be somewhere in the top 3 when all is said and done.

No I get it just wondering your opinion.

Technically yes but Williams shouldn't count

potential 1st round TE
Sprinkle had the most TDs by a TE in the conference last year and is the 3rd returning TE in yardage behind OJ Howard and Engram. We also signed the #1 TE class in the country last year. It could be similar to when we lost DJ Williams and Chris Gragg stepped up in his place.

and what your best 3 OL?
Top two. Smothers was decent but he's not an NFL player or anything. Interested to see how former army all-american Brian Wallace does at LT.
With all that said I understand the ranking since we did lose a lot. People aren't going to project an unknown very high. A lot of our offense's productivity will depend on the QB and that's an important piece we need to figure out.

We'll be fine on offense, it's the defense that's gonna have to show me something. I might have us last there. SDS is shite.

LSU has better OL, RBs but ole miss has better QB and WRs/TE
I'd take the better QB and WRs. You'll never be out of a game. A dominant running team is hard to beat but if they struggle a little establishing the run and the defense gives up points early you can't come back as easily as you can with a sure enough QB and WR corps
