of course he did. His ypa was much lower. and it was only higher by .8%

Johnny passed it more with a shorter field. AJ wasn't good enough to pass it in the red zone. The A&M game proved as much. Johnny lead the NCAA in yards per attempt on third down(also lead the nation in yards per rush on third down). Probably a more accurate stat than YPA, given AJ's lack of talent, and Saban's greater confidence when the ball wasn't in his hands when the game mattered.

Good thing the QB position isn't just passing.

But it is just about passing when one QB can't do anything but pass.

Also, Manziel is a better passer than AJ. Facts are facts.

Here is the quote a&m fans that asked.

While I agree one of your fellow fans said that Manziel was a better passer which is entirely false.

Did you watch Alabama vs Texas A&M? Of the ten best throws made that game, all ten of them belonged to the Heisman Trophy winner.

I'm ready for Manziel to have a mediocre year and then bolt for the NFL.

Guy will get exposed this year

AJ McCarron has one thing in common with Aaron Murray - when the competition steps up, they step down.

Again what do you not understand about Alabama being a run first team. They have two future 1st rd picks at RB.

It had nothing to do with talent.

Laughable considering he is likely to be drafted as arguably the 2nd QB in the draft last year (depending on Bridgewater)

Winning by 1-7: 31/45 472 yards 68.9 completion % ypa of 10.49 6 td's no int

Again, a one game sample size is pointless. Keep pushing it though. I would imagine that's probably the only time you saw McCarron play.

I wouldn't be shocked.

Loses his OC, his top 3 WR's, His best OT, some key members of that D.

I don't think Manziel will be exposed - but I think A&M will have to win some shootouts because the defense is just too young, especially on the front seven.

If Manziel were to stay for the 2014 season, A&M could definitely have a shot at the title because the team will be much better on both offense and defense. However, not this year.

I'll settle for 10-2 or so and another Top 10 finish while Sumlin continues to build depth. As for QB, I'm not too worried about after Manziel leaves, but I also know the talent sitting behind him on the bench as well.

A 10 win season again this year will help to cement the recruiting classes that will allow A&M to compete with the elite teams on a regular basis. We just don't have enough depth... YET.

Good point. Mett has never appeared dumb and we've never read anything that would even imply that other than perhaps his unfortunate arrest in Valdosta which is more to do with his bad decisions when drunk than actually being unintelligent.

Eerily similar. I think A&M has enough to not fall victim to a sophomore slump, but it has happened before.

If your talking about in terms of college football, I would go with JM, because he does give you that scrambling ability, which is needed when your running game is sub-par. But if you're talking about in the NFL, I got my boy AJ all day. Think about it, JM in the nfl.

That's exactly what it is considering that people don't even know who some of the starting QB's are.

Jalen Whitlow, for example, is our third string QB and people are listing him as out starter.

AJ McCarron is the next Rex Grossman...

I think Aaron Murray has the best NFL potential...

Manziel is probably #1 in these college rankings we have here...

#1 Manziel
#2 Murray
#3 McCarron

Anyone else with a name starting with an M???
