What's the appearance rate when adjusted to take away appearances by teams that didn't actually win the division and only appeared because the real winner was "staring down a barrel" from the NCAA and ineligible?

And there it is.

11/25 is 44%

12/25 is 48% (Alabama won SEC West in 2002 but Arkansas represented).

You don't get credit for not going. You were ineligible for the biggest cheating scandal outside of SMU and Ole Miss.

Arkansas just also doesn't get credit because they didn't actually win.

It's like 2004. No national champ and no Heisman. Cheaters don't get credit, but nobody actually won because cheaters are assholes and didn't play fair.

It's a pretty simple metric.

Was your team actually in the SEC Championship game?

If so, they get credit. If they weren't, well, then you can frick right off.

You don't get credit for an SEC Championship game appearance if you don't appear.

Not when Alabama is concerned. They probably claimed a Natty during two of their probation years.
