Mizzou and A&M should not be in this discussion at all since you stated 30 years. You have only been in for two years. A&M I can kinda get because of their past affiliation but Missouri definitely not.

And for the record over the past 30 years LSU has definitely been better than Missouri. Definitely not the last 10 but going back 20 more years definitely

Imagine what would have happened if Shaq and Chris Jackson had more than one year together. LSU could very well have a national title in the last 30 years.

LSU couldn't beat Arkansas when they had Shaq, they were maybe the 3rd best team in the SEC back then after Arkansas joined.

Sorry! I can see how it's sore subject. I was merely expressing admiration at the potential LSU had at that point. I even remembering watching them and being awed at what I was seeing when Shaq was just a freshman and Jackson was one of the best players in the country.

fricking hell. I forget about Charles Barkley every time.

They had some really good teams in the 80's with Barkley and the Person brothers. I'd rate them no lower than 10th.

Ar you kidding?

MSU has two outright SEC titles, a Final Four, several SEC Tournament championships and completely dominated the SEC West in the last 10 years before the divisions were split (7 titles) and you have them next to last?

Yes, State sucks now but over the past 30 years, they are at least middle of the pack. Marcus Bullard was on the take or they might have won the natty in 96.

That's a silly looking list.

Bama has made 16 NCAA tournament appearances over the last 30 years (twice as many as Auburn has in their entire history). Made it to the Elite 8 one year. We've won the SEC Tournament 4 times, and won the regular season conference championship twice.

And MSU being that low has to be a joke.

Bama should be in the top five with the :big3: and LSU.

To give an example of how easy Mizzou had it in the last 30 years, they went undefeated in big8 play after being beaten by 50 points by Arkansas.

Flip Bama and MSU. Pretty good list, IMO.

Tier 1 - nattys.
1. Kentucky
2. Florida
3. Arkansas

Tier 2 - conference titles, at least one decent run in NCAAs
4. LSU
5. Alabama
6. Mississippi State

Tier 3 - competitive years
7. Tennessee
8. Vanderbilt
9. Auburn
10. South Carolina
11. Missouri

Tier 4 - the rest.
12. Ole Miss (needs a conference title to move up)
13. Georgia
14. Gay&M

Probably not, but could have. No way we should have lose to a shitty Syracuse team after beating UConn and Cincy at Rupp.

ITT: A serious underrating of Alabama in conjunction with a serious overrating of Tennessee

Pretty much. I don't think there's any way to rationalize ranking Bama outside of the top 5 of the SEC over the last 30 years.

People do seem to be forgetting that Bama has had some damned good teams (and good players) over the last few decades. One of those players even tried to make the world a better place by strangling an ex-Big East coach!

If the criteria is final fours or recent history (last 15 years) it can be rationalized.
