There is plenty to do around Knoxville. Have you ever even been there?

It was sarcasm...That is why I listed all of the things to do around Knoxville after saying that.

2. Oxford (Faulkner, say no more.)

Faulkner has been dead for over 50 years. So...yes, you should say more. Just stick a copy of Barn Burning in your back pocket and you can take a bit of Faulkner with you wherever you go.

Also...you mention Faulkner with Ole Miss...then Animal House with MIZZOU...what about Tennessee Williams?

And while we are on the famous author kick...what about Alex Haley, Kurt Vonnegut and Cormac McCarthy from the University of Tennessee? Hell...McCarthy is still alive and occasionally comes back to UT to lecture (even though he lives in New Mexico now)...The Southeast is full of great dead authors...why not try to check out one that is still alive?

Just messing with you a bit...but, seriously...all you can say about Oxford is a reference to Faulkner??? That is pretty weak, and says nothing about the city itself.

Hillbilly's is a possessive.

Did you mean 'hillbillies' ? And to my knowledge, Alabama and Tuscaloosa are not known for 'hillbillies.'

Sanford Stadium had over 60,000 for Jason Aldean last March.

Granted it was the first time our AD allowed a non sport to utilize the facility.

Nice crowd! Can't wait to see what attendance at these kind of events at Tiger Stadium will be like after the expansion is finished!

11. Lexington

Lexington is in the heart of the Kentucky bluegrass, surrounded by the world's most prominent horse farms enclosed by whitewashed fences and filled with barns that are nicer than most of the high-end homes in the other cities on this list. No offense, but it's kinda nice. Amazing Bourbon distilleries dot the landscape.

Keeneland alone should move Lexington past most of this list...
