There's 128 teams in FBS. 9 bowl games happened/will happen after us. That means UT's offseason began after 85.9% of other football programs had already started. Your statement is categorically incorrect.

I think most Tiger fans like the white jerseys because of tradition - we've always worn them home or away (except in the 80s when mandated by NCAA).
We wear purple jerseys a couple of times per year also.
For me, the purple jerseys are just too gaudy and bright for me. I know purple and yellow are complementary colors on the artist's color wheel (like blue and orange, etc.)
The reason I (and maybe many LSU fans) like the white jerseys is because I find those gold and purple stripes against the white jersey just cool as shite. And it contrasts well with the purple and white stripes on the gold pants.

Tennessee's all orange = Football on Saturday, Huntin' on Sunday, Picking up trash on Monday.

This, plus the tradition factor. I would be fine with never wearing purple again.
My Ole Miss friends disagree with me since they believe in some sort of curse (correct me if I'm wrong but I believe they have lost every time they have worn them) But I really like their battle grey unis.
Also the Alabama white jerseys don't get enough love.

Auburn has the best uni's in the SEC.. both home and away. i'd say UGA and Bama are tied for 2nd..
