Both teams benefit when the stiff dew makes Auburn lose.

Can you imagine if it got postponed or cancelled. Wow!

There would be now way to make it up short of cancelling UGA/GA SOUT and UA/CHAR SOUT. UGA AND BAMA playing the week before COFH and IB.

They'll play this game even if start time is after midnight. No way they postpone this one.

I don't see the rain being that much of a factor, however.

Harder to throw

Benefits Bama Probably, but UGA can still run it.

Should be a good game.

who benefits from this ?

Kiffin will host a wet t-shirt contest, with Layla, Nick's daughter, and the fax girl, and I will judge. So I would say the fans win.

I will say that from what I have seen, unless it is a downpour throughout the game, the Sanford field holds up fine. It looked fine this past Saturday, even though it had been raining all morning and a few days before. As a matter of fact, Sanford field has looked tremendous when compared to what I have seen from the likes of the Florida field. I also could have sworn I saw green paint stains on Ole MIss and Bama players during their game. Does B-D spray paint the grass to look greener?

BD does spray paint the grass. BD has problems getting enough sunlight on the field to promote healthy grass growth.

The National Weather Service is now saying 80% chance of rain all day Saturday in Athens.

If it is a rainy game it will substantially change the game. The team with the best all around defense will have an edge especially at the line of scrimmage stopping the run. Rain will increase turovers. I think Georgia has a substantial advantage in the passing game but rain will lessen that advantage. Chubb is Chubb and he will be fired up to get his yards. If Alabamas oline can give Henry a hole to get started he'll have a great game. If he has to fight thru the line he's going to have a bad day. His weakness is getting off the ball and lateral movement - but if he does get off the ball he's a hell of a fast load to stop. A slight advantage goes to Chubb because of his quickness.

I think the rain will hurt both teams but will slightly benefit Alabama. I still agree with the line Georgia -2 in a low scoring game.

Well, UGA has been practicing in the rain a lot this week. Not sure if Bama practices in the rain or goes inside. I seem to recall a rainy A-day game that had a tone of ball security issues. Was it last year?

UGA. Kiffin's passing offense will struggle in the rain.

We've had the worst weather in Athens the past two or so weeks. Haven't seen the sun in days. Feel like I'm in Seattle.

Bama. Georgia isn't going to be able to run if it's 70 and sunny. If they have to run, they're screwed.

Doesn't that mean Georgia benefits from the rain then?
