Trying to settle a dispute. Do Notre Dame athletes have to meet higher academic requirements than SEC athletes?

At one point earlier in the decade athletes at South Carolina had to meet higher academic standards than most of the SEC. I Remember Spurrier complaining about it.

I have heard that they do but I wouldn't mind seeing that in writing. I am not sure what their requirements are for getting into Notre Dame.

That still doesn't answer the original question. Michigan, Texas, USC, and a whole bunch of other schools have rigorous standards for the average student but really tone it down for athletes. I mean, didn't Vince Young get something like a -3 on is Wonderlic?

True, I realized that after posting. It also seems like I recently read that Notre Dame waters it down significantly for athletes too...anyone else know?

Tennessee only has two questions on their admission test;

(1) How Many Goats Do you own?

(2) How many of those Goats are actually Blood Kin?
