Question re. Ole Miss/Rebel Rags lawsuit

Am I off base here or is this just going to piss off the NCAA even more so? Why would anyone ever talk or cooperate with the NCAA if law suits and such may be headed your way?

If the NCAA thinks OM is directly or indirectly intimidating or harassing a material witness, you better believe it will piss them off.

Ole Miss isn't filing the suit, it's Rebel rags. If they are disassociated with Ole Miss due to the NCAA, they are out of business. The information that the two kids are saying about them can be proven false.

Im sure it does. It will hurt their chances at using immunity in the future. I guess there isn't anything to fear if you tell the truth though.
The thing it seems you all misconstrue is that OM is suing these kids. This is not OM's decision. I doubt OM is in favor of this.

Not trying to flame, just curious on how that is possible. My understanding of the connection to Rebel Rags is they said they got free stuff from there. What evidence will there be that they did not?

Well for one, after Leo changed his story 2 times, he finally said that they took off the remote tags and let him walk out of the store with the clothes. Rebel Rags does not have remote tags on their clothes. Their are also video cameras and I would assume receipts kept at the store.

None of the other recruits saw anything like that happen that were there, none of the items sold that were supposedly rang up using a gift card do not show, the employee that was named doesn't exist, the claim of security tags being removed (the store has never used security tags), the friends and family saying that they never saw any merchandise, the fact that said merchandise is suddenly gone from the recruit's possession, etc....
Accepting statements from recruits without any proof is what is the real scary thing, no matter what school you're a fan of.

Will someone rid me of this meddlesome recruit?

Why would there be sales receipts for free stuff? shite walks out the door all the time in the retail business. And how the hell can RR prove that he will go out of business in the future due to being disassociated from OM?

The statement was that the merchandise was rang up using a gift card (or something the size of the credit card). So, therefore, this would have been entered into their system.

Are y'all trying to say it is not well known that RR gives free stuff to recruits and families? Like well known before this year and before Leo?

By who? Barney's statements? The guy that even the university agrees with about being dishonest and cannot be taken at full value.
4. The Barney Farrar Allegations
Based upon credible, corroborated witness testimony and other objective evidence, the University has concluded that former off-field staff member Barney Farrar committed significant violations during his recruitment of [Student-Athlete 39] (Allegations Nos. 14(a)-(d) and (h)-(i), 16(a), 17), intentionally hid this
misconduct from the University’s compliance staff
and his head coach, and used multiple intermediaries in his scheme.
In doing so, Farrar acted contrary to the rules education provided to him by the University (and by other institutions throughout his decades as a Division I football staff member and coach). Farrar
purposefully and actively circumvented the University’s monitoring systems and disregarded his head coach’s
repeated directives. Farrar then follows this misconduct with incomplete and misleading testimony during his December 2016 interview. Because of his actions, Farrar’s employment duties with the University ended December 8, 2016

Barney was set up by Dan Mullen as a part of the Rebel Rags conspiracy IMO

None of their stories match and everyone else (non OM related like family/friends/HS Coach) the NCAA interviewed about the free stuff denied it happened.

Since he likens himself to Christ, and the NCAA investigation is the cruxifixction, and Dan Mullen is the Sanhedrin and Leo Lewis is Judas, is this Freeze's "Jesus Wept" statement?

How is he "out of business" just because he can't be an Ole Miss Booster? Does it change his merchandise in any way? Will his Ole Miss t-shirts no longer as good because he's "no longer a booster"?

Have you ever actually listened testimony in a court case? Minor things like "taking off security tags" gets fudged both ways all the time. So he thought they took them off? Maybe some other store he was given free merchandise from that same day did and RR didn't use them. Doesn't prove without a shadow of a doubt that he didn't get free shite from RR.
Receipts are very easy to fudge and hide as is surveillance video.
None of that PROVES he wasn't given free stuff. It just proves he wasn't 100% sure about pointless details. I purchased a bunch of clothes this past weekend and I believe the cashier took off security tags, but it's possible the items I purchased didn't have them.
