here's a few bullet points that fly in the face of the sanitized Saint Gus version of the story:

- Does Mitch Mustains mother like Gus? Hell no. She's crazy? Yeah a little, but she's a mom.

- Gus has kept quiet the whole time? BS. He whined the whole time behind the scenes to media friends, and to personal friends who posted "poor Gus" stories all over message boards. "Gus keeping quiet" is the biggest crock of shite I've ever heard. There are even "poor Gus" stories of things that "happened" during staff meetings, coaching staff only. Where did those fricking stories come from?

- When did Nutt jerk the offense away from Malzahn in 2006? Halftime of game four against Bama. Not after game 8 or 9. I know, some Gus fans will spew venom at me for that one.

- That offense you see Nick Marshall running at Auburn right now? Check out Matt Jones' Arkansas highlight reels on Youtube, pre-Gus. At least give Nutt credit for not having a choir of message board friends insisting he invented football. I'm sure Nutt would say he got most of it from watching Bill Snyder.

While we did run some shotgun read-option with Matt Jones, that's about the only similarity to what Gus does on offense, and the shotgun read-option is not unique to anyone. Matt Jones was more like a giant Johnny Manziel in a more traditional, under-center, power run team.

Nutt pulling Mustain after he started 8-0 was he unforgivable sin for me. I don't care if he sucked you don't pull a QB of an 8-0 team.

it's the inverted veer bro

I don't care who "invented" it. It sure as hell wasn't Nutt or Gus.

I just don't like people who try and claim they invented things. Gus minions swear he did it. He gives "aww shucks" answers to that, which means he's part of the lie.

I agree with that.

this "story of 2006" is really the story of 2004 until 2007

the best parts of it will never be told because media people in Arkansas are afraid to tell it

She's full blown crazy IMO. And I honestly believe the main reason Mitch left and went to Southern Cal was to put the distance of at least half a continent between himself and her.

I have an relative mentioned in this article and have talked to him on this issue specifically...
Malzahn, who he respects and applauds today as a good coach, came in on the back of "savior recruits" without staff agreeing on the hire...
This was an unavoidable consequence of poor athletic dept / university decision that could ONLY result in discord and constant disruption.
The availability to such unique insight is quite helpful...and if you think "ego" and "football coaches" don't go hand in hand, and use that as the premise for blame/blasting either of these coaches...then you need to take ur bs back to the drawing board and gets some real info...
