ETA: although I see their point about other schools claiming such things. I just think it shows the status of your program when you do things like that. You don't see the big 6 teams claiming divisions when they didn't win them outright.
It's always less prestigious schools like Ole Miss, Clemson, etc. that have to pull stunts like that
Of course Texas is an exception to that but we all know they are a bunch of arrogant cocksuckers

It was a 3 way tie thing and A&M beat both parties in the championship game. Everyone was on a high because they put in Tannehill and we won 6 straight after a 3 loss steak. Then LSU ROFL stomped us in the 2nd half of the Cotton Bowl. Sherman was the man on campus all the way to the following season then he was fired because of the trend started at the Cotton Bowl.

A) That's all been torn down
B) While I don't support doing it, that's the way it is done in the Big 12. Teams in the Big 12 publicly claim split titles and are proud of divison titles.

The Big 12 officially disagrees with you. We were co-champions in the South in 2010, officially, per the Big 12. The picture you posted was taken right after the signs were put up, and before the "south" lettering came in.

In terms of football prestige, A&M is like Ole Miss and Clemson. We're probably more like Clemson than any other school.

Texas won the South in 1999 and 2001 (and played -- and lost -- in the Big 12 Championship game), but NEVER claimed those as "conference championships."

I don't know what that has to do with the fact that when we were a Big 12 program it was acceptable to hang co-division titles on the wall.
Difference conferences different standards bro. Just like when we joined the SEC we added 2 national titles due to the SEC standard for counting them.
