LSU ran the zone-read play 11 times for 45 yards in the 21-19 win at Mississippi State last Saturday

Seems like they're just counting every time we ran the ball out of shotgun. I dont think those were ALL zone reads.

harris probably got 25 of those yards on his 3 carries. doesnt seem like we executed it very well when we handed it off.

Tough for a RB to find success in the zone-read game when everyone in the stadium expects him to get the ball. If LSU starts to run it 15+ times a game and Harris starts gashing teams it will open up for LF.

i actually wish we would have run it more often against MSU (with Harris keeping).

I also agree with thunder, i really dont think they ran it 11 times but who knows.

All i know is all 3 times Harris ran it seemed like he went for 8+ and one time for almost 20.

Does Brandon Harris run much zone read? That has been our Achilles hill so far on defense. He seems to be able to run fairly well, so that could be a big part of the game Saturday.

I know it's you, Gus.

It's not Les or Cam's style, at all. I highly doubt it becomes a staple of the offense. They want Harris playing under center and from the pocket.

I'm not sure you know what zone read is. It has nothing to do with anuses.

Guess we know what's on LSU's bulletin board.

Haris is a weapon. If y'all don't watch out he may put over 90 yards on you this weekend

Here's an interesting observation by Cam Cameron late into last season:

quote:

LSU changed its offense again entering the regular-season finale against Texas A&M, a 23-17 victory. The Tigers used more zone-read keepers for Jennings and a handful of jet sweeps for receiver Travin Dural who had 49 yards on those runs. Jennings ran for 112 yards on nine zone-read keepers.

The offense seemed different than the one LSU showed in the first 11 games. So which one will it be?

“We’re going to be both: underneath the center and in the shotgun. You saw that more in the A&M game. Are we going to be a huge zone read team? I don’t know, but the threat of the zone read helps you in so many ways,” Cameron said. “It’s a little bit of a balancing act for us because we do believe in some traditional things, and a guy like Leonard (Fournette) benefits from those traditional thoughts where we can put him 7-8 yards behind the quarterback and let him run down hill on people. We’re going to continue to do that. Mesh those two things together.”

Very jealous. I wish we could get a 70 yard game SEC passer.

No, you wish your team could find a way to beat LSU. Your GOATS can't seem to get it done. You have to live vicariously through other teams.

Achilles what? It'll be fairly flat in Baton Rouge, no worries.

2-6 at Ms46 Brandon Harris rush for 16 yards to the MS30 (Brandon Bryant), PENALTY LSU illegal block (William Clapp) 15 yards to the LSU39, NO PLAY. [Was a scramble on a pass play, penalty had no affect the play itself]

Did you forget last season against A&M? Jennings ran the shite out of it for 100+ yards.

I recall the same. Harris and Fournette both ran that offense in HS so proficiency should not be a problem. Thing is they racked up 266 yards rushing against MSU and the coaches say the OL whiffed on over 20 blocks collectively. Should see drastic improvement execution-wise for 2nd game.

I haven't rematches the Louisville game but against jax st it was eye control we had lb sitting in the hole but they were following the rb and getting out of their gap a lot.
