LSU is better than '11. Gumps are running short on healthy backs. Tigers win large in November.

LSU and Les Miles appear to be a bit better... But whenever Miles loses Saban's players, he will be known as Larry Coker 2.0.

But honestly, LSU's defense defense seems stiffer but has less 'big play' ability. I expect them to force more three and outs but cause fewer turnovers. On offense... Looks like a different team out there. This past game was fun to watch on both sides of the ball. First time it's been fun to watch LSU's offense in five years.

Special teams seem about the same. Wing, Alleman are great. Coverage units are ridiculous, and Beckham has already returned one punt for a touchdown and had a second one called back. Should be just fine there.

Nobody in our league is untouchable. There are several teams in the SEC that could beat Alabama or LSU if they play less than their best football. This isn't the Big 10

Thank you we have a winner. If LSU goes on the road to UF or even Auburn and plays like they did in 2006 they could be staring at 3-2. Florida has a good defense and their offense is improving. Auburn may wake up but they seem in disarray right now.

I believe this LSU team is already as good or better than last year. I know the first two teams was not a huge test but LSU does look sharp in all phases. Drop passes is not a talent issue that can be coached up.

I dont think Bama will be better or as good as last years team, and thats not a knock on this team but they were just that good last year. Starting all freshman runningbacks (but that is one position that a player can make an immediate impact) and giving up 6 sacks would be concern moving foward.

Of course. State going 2-0 against SWAC competition & possibly the worst Auburn team in recent memory are clear signs of an emerging powerhouse....

Ease off the kool-aid a little. The BCS title game may have made you forget the 2011 season.

We MIGHT be as good overall. Our offense should be better, and our defense and special teams should be good enough... but not as good as last year.

We've already given up a cheap, easy long TD to a chump this season, something nobody did last year to us. We've fumbled a kick return. We haven't forced a ton of turnovers as of yet. Claiborne and Mathieu will be missed.

Bama doesn't look as good as last year.

LSU looks way the hell better.

I agree with OP in that the gap looks bigger.
I think we actually look better on offense.
Our defense doesn "feel" better than last year, although the numbers will tell you differently.

I really hadn't watched y'all yet, so I can't give an informed opinion. I know Yeldon's awesome, but I can't imagine anyone being TR awesome. BUT, McCarron's got another year under his belt, so that may compensate IF Yeldon's no TR. Don't know a thing about y'alls defense really.
