@BDavisAAS: Got word tonight from two Big 12 sources with compliance knowledge. Notre Dame can definitely block Golson from transferring to Texas.

That article or blurb, or whatever it is was, was speculating based upon geography - nothing else.
The coaches have been out recruiting all week. Golson reached-out on Monday and was basically told thanks but no thanks ... and it doesn't sound like that's going to change.
Golson burned a bridge with us during the initial recruiting process and Spurrier forgives but Spurrier doesn't forget.
Spurrier also has the Nunez kid coming-in ... we're not hurting for QBs.
So nope - it is, apparently, not going to happen with Golson and the more I heard about it the more I have to agree, he could be a chemistry problem, among other things. Besides, coach don't take QBs with only one year of eligibility remaining ... it just doesn't make any sense.

I think Golson would fit right in at Bama and establish strong ties with our other players.
I wouldn't be surprised if he bonded with our guys so much that we let him ride along on our next armed robbery.

He will end up at South Carolina. Maybe South Carolina will make a bowl game?
Our current bowl game streak is longer than y'all's and we beat you.

Not saying you're wrong at all, but 247 is reporting this morning that SC is sending an an inquiry to the SEC offices to ask if a Golson transfer to SC would be allowed (basically get a waiver to the Grad Transfer Bylaw.) Of course, they aren't divulging a source on that claim, so who knows who they heard that from.
I'm kinda vanilla on the possible transfer to SC. If his stats were better, and he didn't have close to that 2:1 TD/INT ratio, I would be more excited. Also, why didn't he have more rushing yards at ND? (rhetorical) I'll be fine whether the coaches want him or don't.

247 has an article up saying he would like to transfer to either South Carolina or Georgia as he wants to play closer to home for his final year.

It is fine with me if he comes to SC. Even with the turnovers, I think he makes the team better. But, I won't be upset either way.
This all hinges on the SEC waiver issue.

I'll take him over Connor Mitch
Lou Holtz would be elated if this happened.

@BarrettSallee: UPDATE: Source: South Carolina Interested in Everett Golson LINK

Dawson is going to visit South Carolina on Monday and Georgia on Tuesday. He will decide probably shortly after those visits. obviously, both schools are interested in them, otherwise they would not have invited him to visit. either school is still going to need to get the waiver for the SEC grad transfer bylaw.

well this is a very fluid situation. Golson did not get his official letter of release from Notre Dame into South Carolina's athletic department today, so he is not able to visit South Carolina on Monday. He still may be able to visit later in the week.. I would think that also means he is not visiting Georgia on Tuesday, but I don't know how their athletic department handles transfers and paperwork

Golson can't be contacted by other schools until he is released from Notre Dame. So, he won't be visiting anybody until that portion is done.
