You're in a lot of Bama threads.

Is that normal for Auburn fans here?

Didn't your little brother want to always tag along everywhere you went?

Not to defend the master of dragons, but the fact that Bama's only had two semi-successful African-American QBs, after nearly 40 years of integration in the SEC, is pretty remarkable.

I personally don't buy the racism angle. It's far more likely a combination of bad luck, multiple coaching changes, and some very talented white QBs who have stepped in at the right time.

That said, it is a very clearly observed historical trend. For whatever reason, black QBs don't succeed at UA very often. Here's hoping the Sims kid will overcome the odds.

The degree of success has nothing to do with it. Go back and look at the number of black QBs that Alabama has signed.

right

the problem with the trend angle is it's trying to apply a narrative to a random series of events - which is how internet speculation BS and conspiracies get started - if Alabama had managed to pull Jameis Winston no amount of "REC illuminati evil powers" would keep him from being the starting QB

You guys can come up with all the various combinations of reasons why, buy the facts are the facts.

If a guy gets divorced once, I would assume nothing.

If a guy gets divorced 5 times, it is not a stretch to say that something is up with him.

For the first time since sabben has been in tuscaloosa, he has an emerging upper class african american QB in sims.

How does he respond?

signs a white backup from another school.

I will say it another way. If bammer never starts a AA QB for the next 50 years, is it still a coincidence? How many years is enough? How many different coaches are enough?

In 40years of integration (approx 500 games), I would estimate an AA QB has had less than 25 starts.

do the math.

My problem with the Black QBs we've had is that it'a always been start by rFR or bust... none of them have been willing to stick it out like a lot of white QBs will... What Zow went thru was embarrassing he had no support from a week coach who couldn't stand up to some racists RECs... Fran needed a more mobile QB for his system but, Zow was who salvaged our Season.. his last few games were awesome.

I don't know why the luster is gone soon as a Black QB arrives on campus but Bama will recruit them... of course I do remember every time we recruit a Brotha people keep inquiring about what other position he may be able to play.

Blake will be the starter cause he stuck it out and earned the coaches respect... Saban is also strong enough to not be intimidated by the powers that be.

SECdragonbro you seem to be having trouble with this

you respond to my allegation that this is a series of random occurrences with a narrative being labeled to it by listing a series of random occurrences and labeling it with a narrative

correlation does not imply causation my friend

If we lose 4 games, it won't be solely because of the QB, whether it's Sims or not...I'm more concerned 'bout depth & inexperience in our secondary, and perhaps our OL, than I am about QB...and if Sims keeps performing at the level he has thus far during the spring, I'd be fine with him as the starter...

I agree with correlation does not imply causation.

However, at SOME POINT, you have to ask the question when the result is almost always the same.

If bammer does not start an AA QB for the next 100 years, is it still a coincidence? That is all I am asking. I am already suspicious. Just wanting to know when the rest of the board will be suspicious too.
