In terms of work, we're more concerned about Bolova right now (Typhoon about to hit Korea).

Concern comes with where you live and what you own. If you don't live along the coast then you don't care. If you don't own any property or businesses then you still won't care.

But, try owning a business and losing revenue for numerous months, but you still have to make payroll for your employees. Try losing numerous months of rental income on property, but you still have to make mortgage payments on that property. I guarantee you if you own property along the gulf coast then you most certainly care about hurricanes.

I will add another...own substantial farmland that is worthless as a prairie because of a rain deficit stretching 20+ months and you care about the 10+ inches of rain spread over two or three days a tropical storm can dump.

This summer is already shot...but if we don't replenish substantial sub surface moisture next year will start with the same problem this one did.

Personally I'm hoping it takes a more westerly approach because I for one would love to get the rainfall and break the worst drought since the Dust bowl for my little chunk of the world.

We need the rain too but the last one of note that rolled that way (Ike in '08) knocked power out here in Kentucky for a good week and really jacked things up.

Hope everyone stays safe.
