I hear "Gumps" used quite a bit, actually. If you don't hear it in Oregon, that's because Bama never plays them. Jorts... sometimes. Guido is more what I hear in reference to Fla.
"Germans"; never heard the phrase mentioned, ever.

I know Landmass was used after Katrina

It was actually Hurricane Isaac. TWC referred to Mississippi as "the landmass between New Orleans and Mobile" and CNN said the storm would likely make landfall on the Louisiana/Alabama border.

Right. This message board vs real life. That's why Germans won't work.

It has been around since Animal House in the 80's but experienced a revival with the rise of message boards. In early context Germans referred to Pearl Harbor, now it refers to the moon.

"Germans" may be used on other boards but I haven't seen it used to the extent that it is on the Rant and they usually use the full Pearl Harbor line.

My point exactly. Nowhere else does "Germans" get used like it does here. On other message boards, it's commonly abbreviated as GBPH. You'd never see that on here.

"They" would very likely make the counter-claim.

LSU declining

This is a good one. We're recruiting @ the same level (on average) for a decade now. We have literally cut every bit of the coaching staff that was a liability and replaced them with people who are much better. If you say LSU is declining to anyone who really knows college football they'd laugh in your face.

I'll add "saban's leaving"... It's fun to make those jabs on here but you'll sound like an idiot IRL.

Living in Mississippi, I don't find state fans to talk as much shite as they do on here. Ole miss fans are actually less delusional on here.

Is there anything like the SEC Rant on Texags? Because otherwise, I'd be inclined to doubt Texags' claim of precedence.

I myself had never been on that site until the rumors of TAMU joining the SEC came out. Which turned out to be premature. I was one of those who made an account to welcome you. My username might still be listed...same as here.

Just saying the chance of anyone lurking over there and picking up a slang term has got to be a lot lower than as opposed to here.

I think the term "delicious meltdown" should be in the running. I can post about the weather and the Aubs all claim im having one.

Ole Miss is pretty racist.
