I know some Dawgs may not like it for taking a shot at our own fan base on the main board, but I was curious if any other team has things about your own fans that annoy y'all from time to time.

Message boards are funny things. And by funny, I mean the way we used to use a word back in the old days, "queer." Strange, odd, spoiled, ruinous. They were always meant to be used as a media to exchange information. I remember the days when they were, back in the 80s and even early 90s. But the medium has been corrupted, over time, mainly by political and sports boards.

I'm against attacking one's own fan base, collectively, on message boards because nothing but bad ever comes of it. It's a cowardly, treasonous act at its roots, an illustration of a serious character flaw on its surface and a selfish, judgmental act at its very core.

It's not about taking message boards too seriously, that's up to each and every individual as far as what you hope to absorb or take from message boards. It speaks more about our current society as a whole, where the absence of voice inflection and facial expression for all of us to interpret, and react, to mere words as we will - and again, it's usually not good.

I'll never do it personally, not in an offensive manner, attack my own fellow fanbase. I'd never assume to claim to know so-much, based upon sheer words, as to even attempt, or think of, passing judgement on them collectively because I'd be passing judgement on myself in the process at the very least.

Individuals ... now that's another story. Some times they leave you no choice.

Players, that's just a no no. Not players on your own team. Poking fun at players from another team, well that's just human nature. But going-after a player on your own team on a public forum - that ain't cool.

Bobo, meh. I've thought that the public attacks on him, warranted or not in the past, were signs of a weakened UGA fan base.

Fans leaving early ... that's their problem, not mine. I've never done it but neither do I give a flip if they see fit to do it for whatever reason. Their lives, their choices. They must have their reasons. It affects neither my life, nor does it affect the game IMHO.

ESPN/the national media/(random national anylyst) hates Mizzou...everytime anyone on TV says anything that isn't sunshine and roses.

And the inevitable "down in front" from the older crowd who either cant or doesnt feel like standing at a football game. Seems worse at our place than anywhere I've ever been.

ETA: (Specifically for tRant) the groups that either try way too hard to convince you they're southern or convince you they're yankees.

1. Bad mouthing players, even if the guy is busting his a$$ (Jake Holland). I assume that if there was a better player available, the coaches would put him in. This is especially egregious when these same fans had gushed like 14-year-old girls over the kid when he was recruited.

2. Gushing like 14-year-old girls over kids when they are recruited; I've lost count of how many GOAT QBs Auburn has signed over the past few years (Tyrik Rollinson, anyone?)

3. Turning on coaches/players when things go South - losing games or making bad plays is not (usually) a moral failing, guys.

We have too many of "those" fans (you know the ones that I'm talking about). Their lives literally revolve around how the football team is doing.

1. people that are obsessed with ole miss
2. the older retarded redneck segment that embarrass everyone else

Those first two are generally pretty intertwined.

So you'd just rather have no GA fans at all? Isn't being a GA fan accepting mediocrity? Can't have one without the other.
