LSU and Florida had perhaps the 2 best defenses in the nation last year. That's how they won. It had very little to do with offensive prowess.

Stop Clowney, and then there's THIS man's hell to pay:

You tell your LT to let Clowney through, then have Murray hand the ball off and duck right as Clowney is about to lay the wood, putting Clowney over and on his backside.

LSU and Florida did it last year.
Yeah, but UGA is not on the same level with UF and LSU.

Ummm, okay. Let's forget about the fact that SC played both of them, back-to-back, on the road, at night.
Let's forget about the fact that SC was coming off a week of flu bug and 100+ temps as late as Thursday, the night before the team flew to Gainesville.
Let's forget about the three turnovers deep in their own territory, by the three roommates who also happened to be the three guys with the highest temperatures.
Yes, Florida and LSU had excellent defenses, but there was a lot more to it than that. Just as SCAR's defense, also one of the best in the country, was helped tremendously by playing UGA at home in front of a rabid crowd, so were LSU's and UF's victories greatly assisted by all of the contributing factors I listed above. And no, it's not excuses, it's simple fact.

The interior of the SC line was the weakest part of that team.
LSU was able to contain Clowney and beat SC by running up the middle. LSU, to my recollection, did not run sweeps to his side but everything was away from him except for a draw or two to stop his quick pass rush.
To beat SC, Georgia needs to run right up the middle away from his side of the line.

Too bad AM can't stare him down like that afterwards...although I do like the nickname "Sunshine" for AM this fall.

No, those are excuses and you know it. You don't let UGA fans do that crap with the last three losses (rightfully so).

I'll remember this argument when UGA has to play Clemson and Carolina back-to-back to begin the season.

You better not let us get a lead...if you are put in situation where you must pass and abandon the run, it could get ugly.

You assign the man-child Quayvon Hicks at Fullback to follow Clowney wherever he goes and pound away at his thighs.
^^^this^^^
Quayvon gonna put the brakes on Clowney. Hicks is fast enough and more than strong enough to block Clowney out consistently. This would be my number one plan and best plan, as a backup think about using Bauta in a backup role to pound away at Clowney. Guarantee Clowney wears out.
