If AJ McCarron wins the heisman I'll... I was going to write something outrageous, but since there is a 0% chance of it happening, I won't bother.

I doubt he wins it too, doubt it highly. But [assuming Bama wins and McCarron looks solid doing it] as the starting quarterback of a team looking for its third straight national championship, coming off of a statistically strong year, playing in the best conference in college football? I don't see how he's not hyped at the preseason (which I assume the OP was asking about)

Clowney definitely will be springboarded to the top of the list at the beginning of the year because of the bowl game.

Clowney locked it up Tuesday - as long as he stays healthy.

easy killer..Clowney is good, but he aint on suh's level yet. Check the stats if you dont believe me

Um... what? As a sophomore Clowney has more sacks (13 to 12), more tackles for loss (23.5 to 20.5) and more forced fumbles (3 to 1) than Suh had as a senior (though Suh had more QB hurries and Pass breakups and 3 blocked kick/punts as well) though Suh also had two more games played.... At the same level, as a sophomore (in the same number of games played 12, though not the starter...) Suh had 20 fewer tackles 6 tackles for loss and one sack. To be fair... as a freshman backup Clowney had the same number of tackles, twice as many TFL, 8 Sacks, and 5 forced fumbles. Suh is not in the same arena as Clowney...

That's a good list.

Clowney might have trouble duplicating his insane sack and TFL numbers, but if he can, and if Spurrier puts him in to get some easy goal line TDs, I think he could be a defensive Heisman.

If Johnny Football lets him.

He and Clowney will be the frontrunners until the last game of the season. One of them won't be afterwards.

The insane thing about the Outback bowl is that despite Clowney coming out of it a Heisman frontrunner, the O-lineman matched up against him still probably improved his draft stock. Granted, "The Hit" wasn't his fault...

Not to get into an argument or troll but Ingram was the best back in the country that year, his team just happened to make the run and he was the MVP of that team.

No he wasn't. Toby Gerhart was. He won the Doak Walker and had better stats with a far worse o line. Gerhart has even had more production in the NFL.

I'd bet it's a new player we don't expect. Seems like it's this way every year.
