SEC title.

The problem with Bama fans is they're the friend that thinks everything they have is the best. They know this because they wouldn't stoop so low as to buy anything else but the best.
Y'all can throw whatever numbers out there, but IMO he's just not the best QB in the league. He's an athlete with average QB ability. Whatever though, him and all your other 5 star recruits will smoke us and everyone else in the league. Then all the Gumps can gather around and thump your chest about how you're the best and we are all peasants at your feet.

Ah. My bad.
As for the other part, I still don't believe he is the best QB in the SEC. He is a heck of an athlete, and doing a really good job playing QB (esp as a true freshman). But not the top QB. Just my thoughts.

Alright let's compare stats between some of the top contenders for best returning QB in SEC.
Comp %:
Bentley 65.8% (7 games)
Hurts 62.8%
Allen 61.1%
Eason 55.1%
Patterson 54.5% (3 games)
Fitz 54.3%
Where's sean white? 63.9% completion overall. He was great when healthy. Led the sec in qbr and completion %

You're right man. No freshman has ever progressed after year 1.

Most of our own fans don't even want to admit that Sean White is actually a pretty good QB when healthy. What do you expect from a Bama fan?
Much like Hurts, White isn't going to be a pro prospect, but he is a very capable college QB.
AU fans can sleep easy this season knowing that if our starter goes down we have a backup that can still win us games.

We shouldn't have to explain to an Auburn fan that he isn't mentioned because he won't be your starting quarterback this year slick.

I would have liked to have seen Sean White go to a school with an offense he's actually fit for.

Sean white was actually in the mix for most categories. I only realized that after I had put together the list. The broader point I was trying to make was that none of these guys are head and shoulders above the others, and based on last year's results it's not unreasonable to pick Hurts

You're right. I didn't mention anything about progression because the already better QBs in the league will progress as well.

Allen is not a better QB than Hurts. Passer yes (and that's a big maybe), QB no.

Well maybe they can be Pre-Season first team All-SEC next year.

If the coaches had got behind him and supported him from the start, then the offense could have been made to fit him better. Malzahn's offense isn't set in stone to be the 2013 version.
Malzahn came here in 2009 with Chris Todd for a QB and set what were at the time school records for single season passing. Todd could barely make it to the huddle without a walker, he was a statue. White isn't a typical running QB, but he's actually very quick and slippery.... the offense could have fit him and worked fine.
I'm a huge fan of Sean's so I hope he leaves as a grad transfer after this season and goes somewhere he can start immediately and tears it up next season.
He's from Florida and he reminds me of a weaker armed Aaron Murray so maybe Miami with Richt?
Selfishly I would like to see him at UAB in Bill Clark's offense.

Is this Christian Kirk's 5th year? Thought he graduated.

I thought he was a sophomore last year

Danny Etling's numbers once CEO took over
completion 60%
TD/INT 2.0
YPA 8.5 !!!!
QBR 144.5
Good enough to win with in the SEC.

If true, worst showing for LSU in years. Hope some unknowns step it up.

Auburn - 3
Tier 3
LSU - 2
AnM - 2
Florida - 2

Also, I think the Allen kid at Ark is the best QB in the league, his team wasn't that good and it shows in his stats. Hurts is number one due to his production last year within an loaded offense. He could turn out to be a very very good QB.
