Don't fall for the hype of starters lost

when you lose 12 of them, that's a big deal. state isn't the only team that has bench guys who have contributed. that doesn't mean losing the guys who started in front of them isn't a big deal, especially when there's 12 of them. that also means you have that much less depth behind the new guys. depth is key in league like the sec

Tough call. West is brutal this year and could be anybody. I guarantee that whoever it is will go to a bowl game and win though.

We haven't been last in the West since 2006 with Croom. Good try though.

so the law of averages will even out this year?

i mean there's a reason most people are picking state to finish at the bottom of the division.
The same people who were picking us to finish last in 2014.

State is the only team that played a 1a. 1b. defense though.

The only losses State isn't replacing with equal or better talent is the O-line, and we aren't sure how they'll turn out.

RB- Shumpert was already getting a lot of PT over Josh towards the end of the season.
CB- Jamerson should have never been starting over Redmond last year.
S- Jamal Peters or Markett will be equally as good as Jay Hughes was.
LB's- will be collectively better even without McKinney- B. Brown, R. Brown, Gerri Green, JT Gray
DL- This is where most people are sleeping on MsState and I love it. Remember Ryan Brown and AJ Jefferson.

Arky gonna be last. Lost too much on defense. And Brandon Allen still sucks

Look it's another thread where everyone picks us last and nobody picks Auburn despite us having identical seasons and beating them at Auburn last year

Auburn has Malzahn and yall have Sumlin.

Nuff said.

What has Sumlin ever done when he didn't have an Offensive Coordinator named Holgorsen and QB's named Keenum and Manziel?

Just as everybody predicted, you saw the results as soon as Manziel departed. He's in over his head as a HEAD COACH at a "Big Boy" SEC school.

The Chavis hiring is just a desperation last gasp move to save his job. Might work and might not.

Hard to tell, there are a lot of teams in the SEC West that aren't really separated by that much. Based on everything I've seen or read this off season even the worst team in the West should be a nightmare to draw in a bowl game.

State lost the most talent. Ole Miss has a question mark at QB. LSU had a putrid offense last year. Arkansas has the kind of schedule to make fans lose their hair. Aggies have talent but how quickly can Chavis have an impact on a woeful defense?

Still, could be worse then finishing last. You could have been slapped around in your bowl game last season.

This is just dumb, Sumlin is a very good coach and only a hater would say otherwise. TAMU's main problem has been defense and they've made that a priority for upgrading. While lsu fans will bash and belittle the Chavis hire he's a definite upgrade and will improve that side of thd ball for them. They have a loaded state full of talent and will only get better the longer they are in the sec. Your hatred for them is blinding you.

They very well may be last in the west this year but don't count on them staying there on a yearly basis.
