what have hand and davis done so far in their illustrious time at the capstone to warrant such a statement?

At this point it just makes more sense to assume that next man up on the Bama Defense is going to be plug and play in another top 5 defense than to assume anything else.

Suck?
With their recruiting and Saban that will not happen.
It's stupid to even type such a thing.

They have been dominant when in the game. Look at most mock drafts for 2018. They have Hand, davis, minkah and harrison going first round.
Dont be upset that Alabama reloads every year.

Didn't bama lose two big time Dlinemen after the '15 season that were expected to go first round?

Neither went in the first. They both were multi year starters.

Haven't seen much of anything so far from hand or davis to warrant first round consideration.

Could you possibly link some or at least one that project either or both in first round.

Alabama will NEVER "suck" on defense as long as Saban is around, and they continue to pull in freak athletes.

You are reaching again. Most of us realize the off season is the time SOME of you LSU fans start to get "overly hopeful or optimistic" about the upcoming season.

No way on God's green Earth we shutout Bama in T-Town.

In the last decade we have shutout:
2006- Kentucky
2007- Middle Tennessee
2009- Tulane
2010- ULM
2014- Sam Houston State and ULM

That is 6 shutouts in ten years, one of which was an SEC shutout of a UK 8-5 team...

First one that came up when i googled 2018 mock draft.
Anything can happen in the draft due to needs. If you dont think a'shawn and reed were first round talents you are not being very logical.

FYI davis isn't eligible for the '18 draft so, I highly doubt anyone had him as a first rounder in any mock draft.

hand has very little on field production to show for his three years at bama. Will really have to blowup in final season to have any kind of shot at first round.

ashawn and reed were projected first rounders by most mock drafts. They were first round talent until they weren't picked in the first.

For what it's worth LSU had SEVEN players listed as first round picks in those '17 mock drafts. Tiger fans were pounced on by tide fans all last summer for even mentioning it.

Did you read the link? It listed Payne, Hand, Minkah and Harrison. Of course it isnt a sure thing and it will shake up a 100 times before the draft.
However, to say alabama's 2017 defense is any less talented is not true. Just as much first round potential talent as last season.

did you read what you originally posted?

davis listed as a first round pick in a couple of mock drafts for '18.

he isn't even eligible.

as for hand. would like to know what anybody is basing their opinion as a first round pick on? it surely isn't on past production.

I can sense the sarcasm in your post, but this is a different LSU team,
It's anyways a different team.

Then after a while you figure out it's still the same.

I bet you and guys like you said the 2016 defense couldn't be as good as 2015 because of what was lost. Water is wet and Bama will have the best defense in the SEC. Again. Just look at the waiting list for playing time on the Bama front 7 over the last few years. Hand is one of the strongest guys in football with legit 4.8 speed at 280 llbs. You guys never believe it until you see it and that's ok.

where has hand been the last three years? not much production to show for amount of PT. after all the bama company line is subs all play starters minutes with no drop off in production. One five * subbing in for a 5* starter.

you do realize that bama's Dline recruiting over the last two cycles hasn't been up to it's normal standards?

only one 5* signed.
