Awful lot of Auburn dick-riding going on for an Auburn team that lost the least off their offense in the division.

The west will be up for grabs. Bama, TAMU and LSU all lose tons of talent. Auburn does as well, but can they recreate the magic 2 seasons in row also? Can Ole Miss take the next step?

I think UGA wins the east tho

South Carolina (Auburn won't beat USC twice in a year)

No, including Auburn fans, so why should that be indicative of how you are going to perform this year?

True, but does anyone really think that Auburn's next LT is going to be another top 5 pick combined with another Heisman finalist running back in the backfield? There is reason Gus ran Tre 30+ times a game.

It's like you are so focused on Auburn you don't even try to compare them to what other teams lost.

Alabama loses a 1st round LT (all-american), MLB (Butkus winner, 2x all-american), & S (all-american), as well as a Heisman Runner-Up & Maxwell Award winner. Doesn't matter.

Auburn loses 2 players and :ohnoz:

PS: Tre didn't carry the ball 30+ times a game. Hell, he only carried it 30+ times 3 times in his entire career.

Wait, you are trying to compare the end of 2012 with the end of 2013?

I won't say I have confidence Auburn will win the West again.

However, Auburn went from average to 70 seconds from a national title within a few months. Not bizarre to expect they'll be overall better next year. I don't think we'll have legendary finishes next year, but we might need them less, too.

Obviously losing Mason and GR hurts, but I doubt you'll see a significant offensive drop off. I predict we'll be better (but likely with at least one regular season loss again) due to a moderately improved defense and a more varied offense.

They have also NOT won NCs with 1st year starters.

Under Saban we've won the national championship game twice with first year starters. Under Saban there hasn't been a first year qb who hasn't won the title. Granted its a very small sample size, and I'm not trying to say that we will win the title next year, but I don't think your post was accurate. I think Bama will drop between 1-3 games. I don't think our year will have as much to do with qb production as it will with oline production.
To the OP, I think it will be a Bama/LSU/AU from the west and UGA/Mizzou from the east.

Auburn vs Mizzou again

Auburn

This seems like a thread that Garrison would make. Are you two related?

Those with a legitimate shot, in order of likelihood...imo

AU/LSU/UA/OM-west
A&M has to get that D fixed first
Mullen has to beat someone that finishes top 20...at least twice....in the same year...
Hogs...CBB still building his team
I have LSU over UA because losing 4 in a row would just suck too bad.

Mizzou/SCar/UGA-east
UF needs an O
Jones still building his team
UK and Vandy....well....

Winner- West rep.

I have no idea. Auburn seems like the obvious choice, and I want to say them, but I will say they don't. The SEC hasn't had back-back winners since UT in the 90's. I will go with the streak.
Gun to my head, I'll go Bama over Florida.

I have to believe Bama is the favorite in the West next year. Auburn, amazing as their turnaround was, almost certainly won't have the remarkable run of fortuitous bounces they got this year. LSU lost what feels like half their team and whoever ends up starting at QB will be a better runner than passer. Ole Miss just seems to be holding steady in the 4-5 loss range, and A&M is a four loss team next year until the defense proves otherwise.

MSU could actually surprise some next year I feel. tFlagship will remain somewhere on the bottom of the Atlantic.

Yes, Bama is replacing their starting QB but the last time they did that they won the MNC. They are just so stacked from top to bottom. They are what LSU could be every year if Les Miles didn't call in sick 3-4 Saturdays every fall.

You act as if Bama had no chance in the game; Bama actually outgained AU (by over 100 yards), and AU won on a fluke play on the last play of the game.

Bama over USC in 2014.
