This is more what you want to happen then what you think will happen. After all you've already admitted the last thing you want is to see us win another NC.

Dude, calm the frick down.
The guys we lost (Mathieu, Faulk, Wing, both RBs) we already had to play without for most of last year, so their replacements got plenty of experience.
Mingo and Montgomery, despite being great talents didn't really produce much on the field stat wise. It shouldn't be that hard to replace that type of production. Plus, we still got Anthony Johnson in the middle to anchor things.
Reid hurt us more than he helped us last year by trying to make the highlight play and fricking it up. Plus, Loston is experienced and the backups played great last year. (Thompson, Eugene, Martin)
UGA lost a lot. UF wasn't that good last year and got a lot of lucky breaks. TAMU lost a lot on D too, but should still be strong. Bama lost more to the NFL than we did. you just never know.
The only thing is that I think we are way too young heading into the TCU game. It really bodes against us them having an experienced QB and offense against our young D for the first game.
But, remember, Mett will only get better as evidenced by the 2nd half of the season last year and we get Blue back. We'll be fricking fine.

It's both. I don't think Bama is equipped to stop a spread option attack like Meyer's after losing so much last year. They still get past A&M or LSU due to A&M's lack of D or LSU playing terribly on the road.
OSU's defense will be greatly improved and has the coaching and athletes to give bama a fight. I think it'll be a close game, but OSU matches up better IMO.

When Bama loses its 2nd game this season, I will be happy because it will be to LSU. :)

That's some pretty impressive spin there Mr . Moustache.
You should be worried

This is EXACTLY why they won't beat Alabama. The Crimson Tide is designed, top to bottom, to beat SEC teams. If Alabama is to be threatened, it will be by a team that is non-SEC is every way and actually GOOD at it.

Alabama vs Stanford
I would not count on Michigan beating Ohio State or Florida State winning the ACC. Also, no one has 3peated in the modern era, and I doubt the pollsters and American public want to see Alabama 3peat. Sure it's the last year of the BCS, and it'd be great if it didn't go down in high controversy. Personally, I think Alabama vs Stanford would have made the best title game last season. It would've been much more competitive than Alabama vs Notre Dame. If Kevin Hogan was the starter all of last season, then Stanford may very well have gone undefeated, and we could have seen that matchup.

Excellent post. I agree with almost everything you've said in this thread regarding LSU. However, why are you concerned about the TCU quarterback? Your secondary returns 3/4 starters and should be significantly improved. I read that Chavis didn't blitz much last year due to the young secondary. Well, the secondary isn't so young anymore, and it appears LSU's focus should be more on the front 7. Ya'll will be fine. If I were an LSU fan, my greatest concern would be the Georgia game. Both defenses should have gelled by that point, and if Georgia is a 0 or 1 loss team, they could come out on fire. I would rank the LSU Georgia game as the #3 SEC regular season matchup in the SEC behind Alabama/LSU and the SEC Championship game. It could be very exciting.
Florida's offense and Georgia's rush defenses are question marks, but if they come through by the kickoff of the LSU game, then things will be very interesting. I can't wait.
I wouldn't worry about Alabama or Texas A&M. You play both teams after a bye week in favorable environments. The Tigers shouldn't be afraid of playing Alabama in Tuscaloosa and definitely won't be afraid of playing Texas A&M in Death Valley. Barring major injuries, your defense could be stronger than last years when November rolls around. Good luck LSU!!!

Clearly the Louisville game defined UF's season last year.
It was a fluke.
