Or SEC isn't that strong this year. Arkansas's run defense is really bad. Vandy is Vandy. UGA has had its share of struggles. AU doesn't play UT or UF. The only teams remaining on their schedule that are very challenging are Bama and OM.

Auburn was just as high or higher in recruiting. It probably has more to do with having 3 different head coaches in that span.

Probably pretty close but not higher. Talent level seemed to be more stable on Richt's teams imo, and that was mirrored in the W/L records.

I could see Auburn winning out with a pair of perfect games against Ole Miss and Bama. I give splitting those 2 a 50/50 chance. As we all know a team can get way up for any one game and big things happen and both of those will be big games that elevate play on both sides. I would feel better about winning either of those games with a home field advantage.
