Rich Rod would be a great coach for the gators but: 1. I think he's actually happy where he is and 2. he's good friends with Coach Jones which wouldn't stop him from taking the job but would probably kill any drama in a rivalry in desperate need of a boost.

I think Arkansas got pretty far with him and some of our writers said he had some interest in us when we hired Sumlin. UF is a premier job, I think he would seriously entertain it. I want him coaching in the SEC because he's a good coach, wildly entertaining and UF would be a perfect fit
Gundy came thisclose to taking the UT job which surprised the hell out of me. Many of us thought he was just flirting for a raise and he did get that raise
. In hindsight, I'm glad he passed as I don't think he'd be a good fit for us. Too much Lane in him personality wise. Speaking of Pickens... Oddly enough T. Boone has been at UT all week. First he spoke at the newly christened Haslam Business School then a day later he spoke at Howard Baker Center for Public Policy. Finally he was a guest at football practice. I guess he's enjoying UT, the Haslams, and KnoxVegas.

It admittedly hasn't been much of one in a while and I fear it won't make it much longer if nothing is done. It was always a product of expansion, Spurrier, and Fulmer but here we are on our 2nd expansion without Spurrier or Fulmer with a dying rivalry where UT and UF fans don't even properly trash talk one another anymore.
