Why does Stoops always get so much love? His team's consistently lose to teams they shouldnt.

Beilema has to be higher too. It's like they are discounting everything he did at Wisconsin

Lol at Saint Rich's ranking. Pretty high for a coach that has never even played for a national title, hasn't won a conference championship in over a decade, and let Missouri win the east the last two years

I didn't realize this was ranking coaches on the last ten years?

By a strict W/L record.

Winning at South Carolina =/= Winning at UGA or in the Big 12

If you look at Richts avg wins per season as a head coach in the SEC vs his SOS over the same time period, he's ranked about where he needs to be.

A coaches track record is a pretty good indicator of coaching success and talent. Used 10 years since it was a round number.

Those questioning Bert's ranking, he simply needs to have more time to go up the ranking. Has to prove he can win at Arky first.

Why don't you look at his success vs his strength of schedule. Who really gives a shite if the coach is 120-0 in 12 years if his SOS is 125th

Where are all the Aggie's? I figured they'd be here with the quickness on this one.

Mediocre list imo. It heavily favors coaches who's done well at easier jobs in talent rich areas like Richt abd Fisher and under rates coaches who've done more with less like Dantonio, Briles and Snyder. Here's what I think the top 10 should be.

10. Stoops
9. Miles
8. Dantonio
7. Harbaugh
6. Snyder
5. Art Briles
4. Gus Malzahn
3. Patterson
2. Urban
1. Saban

I have seen somewhere that Pinkel is ranked 2nd in success per recruited talent.

Gus may well be on his way there, but I wouldn't put him in the top 5 yet. Other than that I agree.

ETA: Add Pinkel and drop Stoops too.

Meh. Why don't you go through the entire list and try to sort based on "scoreboard"? Good luck.

14. Helfrich
8. Fisher

Scoreboard?

11. Briles
5. Patterson

Scoreboard

17. Beamer
2. Meyer

Scoreboard?

Etc, etc

Agree with D'Antonio. I was very surprised not to see him ranked in the top 10. Would'nt mind if he was Scar's coach after Spurrier retires, especially since he's a USC grad and former football player for us.

Well, Malzahn, Briles, Harbaugh, Dantonio and Snyder could be put in any order. They're all great coaches who've done wonders at tough situations.
