At the time of his retirement in 1975, Ralph "Shug" Jordan was not only Auburn's winningest football HC but also our 3rd winningest men's basketball HC.
Auburn is also the only SEC school with two different alums with the most victories as an HC at an SEC school (Jordan at AU, Dooley at UGa).
Of AU's last 7 football HCs, 6 have fielded teams that received first-place votes in the final regular-season or postseason AP polls: Jordan in '57, Dye in '83, Bowden in '93, Tuberville in '04, Chizik in '10, and Malzahn in '13. Only Doug Barfield ('76-80) failed to reach that height.

I call BS on your story

Stan Gable - Case and point: Tennessee. They claim 6 NC'S yet they lost 3 of the 6 championship games they played in.
Could you name those "championship" games? If you mean bowl games, bowl games were not and never have been "championship" games except for the BCS. And we won our only BCS title game in 1999. Until about 1970, "championships" were awarded after the regular season, without any regard to the bowl games whatsoever. General Neyland considered bowl games to be exhibition games that were rewards to the team for the just completed regular season - in which he often went undefeated, and in one season went unscored on.

Bruse Arians was offensive coordinator at State under Sherrill
And of course
Mississippi State is the #1 team in the nation for the third consecutive week!

LSU and Ole Miss have played in 6 different cities(according to Wiki). Oxford, Baton Rouge, New Orleans, Jackson, Vicksburg, and Meridian. Was surprised that we played in Vicksburg and Meridian, but not Memphis. Didn't Ole Miss used to play home games in Memphis?
Ole miss played in BR 20 straight years. LSU and Tulane use to be in a building war for "largest stadium in SEC." Ole miss and State would gain more gate revenue playing in BR each year as opposed to Jackson. They didn't have a stadium with at least 30,00 until 1957 I believe.
So when you see Ole miss fans "claim" to have a winning record in TS. Understand that it's because they were poors and played in BR nearly ever year from 1936-1956.

Carolina has beaten 8 of the top 10 winningest programs of all time the last time they played them. Tennessee would be #9 this week.
The list: Alabama, Notre Dame, Ohio St., Texas, Michigan, Nebraska, Georgia, and Southern Cal.
All of these teams were beaten by South Carolina the last time they played. I thought this was very surprising.

Bama is the only SEC team to have won an SEC championship every decade since the SEC was founded
Bama has a winning record in every SEC stadium except Jordan Hare

It helps when you use a poll t that didn't even exist until over a decade after the game to claim a title.

Which polls hand out SEC titles?

SC football sucks this year.
...Well, I guess that isn't too hard to fathom.

Give Chiz credit for one thing. he kept that 2010 team focused and kept the wolves at bay. The utter shite storm of camgate was the biggest media blow up / feeding frenzy I have ever seen. ATPB was a classic example.
Chiz and the AU administration built a wall around that team and Cam stayed focused enough to do his thing. Chiz earned his NC ring right there.

Since '03, Carolina has allowed Alabama it's lowest point total in a game (3 pts, at Alabama in '04) and also its worst loss at home during this period (same game, 20-3).

Nice work. How did I miss that thread? That would have gone for 20 pages if I got involved
Congrats on the 3 point, in DV at night upset. Did you get a chance to storm the field also?
