I think Matt Jones should count for Arkansas. He was basically a running back.

The First 1,000 yard rusher in NFL history. Still holds the yards per carry record by anyone with 100 carries in a season at 8.44 fricking yards.

The Great "Big Chief" Beattie Feathers.

And..

One of only 5 2,000 yard rushers in NFL history, second best single season and single game in NFL history. JLew.

But the best had to be...

Man, he pissed me off.

Thank you, Ryan, though. You officially sealed John Cooper's fate.

Bengal44, is the 4th Inf. Division still in Colorado Springs. I heard it had moved to Texas. That broke my heart. I'm an old 4th Inf man myself.

well, LSU has been covered pretty well, so I'll add Vanderbilt since I grew up pulling for the Commodores.

Frank Mordica:

holds the SEC single game rushing record with 321 yards vs Bill Parcells' Air Force Falcons in a Vandy 41-27 win in 1978.

I believe Darren McFadden is now tied with him, having 321 yards on 34 carries against South Carolina in 2007. During the same game, however, Felix Jones had 166 yards on 13 carries. That (combined) has to be some kind of record, one would think?

Matt could/can definitely run...but he was unique ...a nemesis to the opposition; an enigma who could improvise and execute under almost any condition with nerves of steel. I just hope he puts the drugs behind him.
