None of these would be huge spectator sports
I actually disagree with this. The continuous globalization of media has really contributed to increasing American popularity of soccer in recent years and its only continuing to grow. It’s the biggest sport in the world and that isn’t changing. I could see soccer becoming the “Big Fourth” in college sports 40 or 60 years down the line easily.

I suspect that we'll actually see soccer become the next major team sport in the conference. The majority of true college compatible kids seem to be leaning toward the sport, and, who knows, it could be the savior of real amateurism!

I can buy this. Particularly if the popularity of football declines.
I live in metro-Atlanta and have a 7 year old who is obsessed with soccer. Kid is watching EPL matches on Saturday morning instead of cartoons. I cannot overstate the explosion in popularity and growth of clubs around here particularly with the arrival of Atlanta United. It is as popular as football, basketball, baseball with kids in school right now.

As a kid, I had an older brother and sister who played soccer. We traveled all over the southeast for tournaments. My sister got a scholarship and played 4 years in college. I wasted a huge amount of my life watching them play. While it is probably a fun game to play, it is in my opinion dreadfully boring to watch. If I ever watch another soccer game, it’ll be too soon.

We already have soccer
I’ll go with Ice Hockey, few fraternity brothers played on the club team.
Those were fun games

College soccer is on the decline because any player that is decent is playing professional by 16
The MLS academies and European academies are the biggest threat.

correct. I played a lot of different sports over my youth and wrestling was, by far, the most physically demanding sport I ever played. If it wasn't physically demanding enough, try cutting and managing your weight to the pound every single week. shite was awful. Also wish I had that ability in my 30s

I mean if 1 and done really is coming to an end in basketball, the same thing is gonna be true of CBB very soon. The only difference is the pool of athletes, and that’s on American culture. If American parents viewed soccer the way they do the other sports (force a kid to at least try it, stuff like that) there would be more athletes and it wouldn’t be a problem. The problem is America as a country overlooks soccer. I promise you it would have the viewers if it were a quality product at the college level

Soccer. It's a crime that very few schools in the SEC have soccer.

Imagine if you had a team of the following kind of guys that had been playing soccer all their lives...
Russell Westbrook
OBJ
Reggie Bush
Steph Curry
Jarvis Landry
Antonio Brown
Patrick Peterson
Michael Vick
Kyler Murray
You get the picture. A bunch really fast, athletic guys. A 6'4" Westbrook would be a dominating force in the box on corner kicks. Imagine having someone like Blake Griffin or Jimmy Graham at goalie.
