I think most Bama fans are perfectly fine with AJ going to NYC. He probably won't win it, but that's ok.

AJ is one of my favorites and I want to see him win everything on his way out. Just because I'm biased.

The whole argument here is this: Winning vs Stats. Do you give the trophy to a unselfish player whose football career has been the best ever in football or do you give it to a player who plays in every quarter and has crazy stats.

Mark Ingram received the trophy because he put the team on his back in more than one instance and helped a prominent football come back to life. He didn't have the gaudy numbers.

AJ has done the same. However, we all know the voters is going to remember games in his past instead of a single season. IMO. There have been a number of games we would've lost without AJ. Including the TAMU game this year.

I'm fine with them giving it to AJ as a lifetime achievement award this year.

I concur.

Assuming he doesn't choke in the Iron Bowl or in the SECCG.

What exactly has AJ persevered through? having the best defense and offensive line in College football 3 years in a row?

It really is an interesting discussion. With Winston and Manziel having the obvious question marks on integrity, Petty looking human again, and there not being a lot of standouts this year.

The knock on AJ is the "outstanding" criteria. He does not make a lot of "wow factor" plays. But who else is there? The injuries to so many key players and just bad games leaves it very open.

Jordan Lynch for NIU? I don't know if he's a better QB than AJ, but is he a more outstanding player to watch? I think a fair argument could be made. I really don't know who deserves it most, honestly.

If you knew anything about AJ's life story, you wouldn't ave to ask that. Knowing something about subject matter you wish to argue about, it a gray thing.

At this point I'm not sure who would be more deserving. By that I mean players who have been in the conversation already this season. At the very least he should get an invite and I wouldn't be amazed if he got the most or second most votes.

If McCarran was the 4th-5th best candidate last week then he should be 1st-2nd best this week.

Its a popularity contest, nothing more. Charles Woodsen won it over Peyton Manning. That's all you need to know.

Its crazy how all these QB's keep falling out of the heisman race, to be replaced only by other QB's as the top candidates. Why can't defensive players or a fricking running back or wr even be in the conversation?

I did. I have read it before. My point is you are grasping at straws here. Let it go.

I'm sorry your school is content with excepting mulligans and handouts. First Ingram stole the award from Toby Gerhart, then you guys trip and fall into 2 NC's, now you want the Heisman trophy gift wrapped for AJ despite him having never been the best player on your own damn team

I mean seriously, I'm pretty sure Kiehl Frazier could win 10 games behind a solid offensive line and a Top 10 defense

Great point. If this award were even remotely about the most outstanding player in college football, we'd have an entirely different list.

But it isn't, and we don't...and if you feel up to the challenge of changing the superficial nature of 24 hour, 7 day a week sports talk, good luck.

Face it. If aj mcarron wins the heisman it would be a disgrace. Then bama could claim 2 sub par heismans who weren't even the best at their position

Honestly cj mosely should be in NY

I could care less about heisman trophies but AJ winning it definitely wouldn't be disgraceful in my eyes just like Ingram winning it isn't disgraceful in my eyes either.

That could all be because I don't care about individual awards though.
