Hmm, non-SEC, the biggest name is probably Andy Dalton. I played football with him at Katy High School in Katy, TX- a suburb of Houston. He was a year behind me.

Edit: He was at Harding then Rossville.

He practiced at Rossville for 1 practice and was kicked off the team because he wouldn't go to practice.

ETA2: grew up in Alcorn Cnty, MS

John Darnell was the QB at Ole Miss
Carlos Toomer played basketball at Kentucky (shortly)
Stephen Davis played basketball at Ole Miss (also shortly)

I don't really know of any players from this area playing in the SEC, which is surprising. I think one kid was at Ole Miss a couple years ago but I don't know his name.

I think this will change in the next few years, there is some serious talent right now in the area.

SEC teams missed out on a pitcher from Farmerville that was throwing in the low 90s. Baltimore scouted him and recommended him to go to college. He is at ULL now. He was their state championship winning QB.

You can't steal Pettway. That would go to Camden or Selma. Pettway would say the hell with all of you, I'm from Gee's Bend.
Also no mention of David Beverly and Micheal Johnson. Ben Wallce(NBA) grew up just down the road. He was born in Selma hospital, we'll take him.
One of the top boogs is also from selma. Shug Jordan.

My birthplace (Prattville) produced Kevin Turner and Roman Harper for Bama, amongst others.

However, my current hometown produced this guy:
