Mike Blakely. Really thought he would be a great back this year

Harrison Jones starting/getting playing time over Brian Vogler(although Vogler hasn't exactly done much himself).

Nationally, Robert Woods being the best WR in the Nation. Not even the best on his team right now. Nordly Capi becoming a big name passrusher, only to get expelled for beating someone up.

ETA: Oh and pretty much everyone in the offseason regarding LaMichael Fanning...

Yep. He had very limited carries for us. He looked very good at times but fumbled twice in less than 20 carries. He won't see the field again this year unless mason gets hurt.

Morgan Newton. Thought for sure after he helped UK beat Auburn and Georgia and went 5-2 in 7 games as a freshman that he'd be the next big thing. I, like many of my fellow UK fans, even wanted him to usurp Hartline.

I'm still wondering WTF happened.

I thought Lacy would have a huge year.

I've only seen him a few times this year, but he seems to do the spin move too much--even when it isn't necessary.

Kiehl Frazier. I thought he'd just be average.

He's much worse. A program killer.

Morgan Newton.

I agree, Morgan Newton had offers to play QB from every major SEC team. Moss was also as highly recruited. I thought we would be set for QB for a long time.

Newton turned out to be the biggest let down UK has had in a long time. Moss left because Joker stuck with Newton. It took 3 years of Newton sucking before Joker finally gave up on him.

I'll give Mett the benefit being the first year starter and working with a makeshift line and receivers who have bricks for hands.

But so far the most disappointing has been Odell Beckham. He literally just pisses me off. Running his mouth at Elam while getting his arse whipped, fielding punts at the 2, taking all the white womenz at the bars...he just makes me mad. I thought he would take the TM role as a gamechanger.

I was wrong about Eddie Lacy putting up big numbers. He's shared more carries with T.J. Yeldon that I though he would. I didn't think the injuries would hold him back as much as they have. He's a step slow and that's a bad thing in the SEC.

I would like to call out those Alabama fans that didn't think Chance Warmack was going to be a great OG for Alabama. He not only surpassed those expectations, he may be the best OL in the country.

Bama players
Less than I expected:
DJ Fluker
Cade Foster (as a kicker, he's a great tackler)
Griffith - thought he'd take the FG job from day 1.
DURON CARTER - does he count?

Better than expected:
Stinson
Deion Belue (I know, I know...but considering he's the most "picked on" cb, he's done well)
Blake Sims

Warmack's belly > All of UT's OLine.

Fact.

but I'd have to go Russell Shepard. I thought he was going to be the truth when he came to LSU

I think Shepard is just not utilized correctly. He shows flashes of being very good.

Player I was wrong about: Mettenberger. He sucks.

The "makeshift" O-line is actually better than the O-line that started against Washington.

Yes, LSU's WR's seem to have brick hands often.

However, Mett has been well below average and sometimes downright awful.

Most LSU fans thought he would be average to above average prior to the season. If he were just average, LSU's offense would be quite a bit better.

There were a few writers that wrote that Mett had poor accuracy with short to medium passes prior to the season started. They wrote that Mett was a bit slow with decision making. Most LSU fans, including me, ignored what they wrote. Unfortunately, they were correct.
