Would make obvious HUNH comment...but, that is actually a very cool looking helmet. Glad to see Riddell taking this step.
Wonder how it will compare to the SG and Xenith X2E.

It's supposed to be pretty legit. They don't talk about it in that poster but we also just got in the Insite program and will be using that this season. If you haven't ever read up on it before then check it out. It's a pretty sweet technology in regards to concussion detection.

Sadly, I think a tragic event like that is what it will take for the Cult of Gus to acquiesce to the concerns that those with common sense have put forth.
I get that you guys have an alliance born out of bitching, but 'cult of gus?' Really taking this star crossed lovers scenario seriously.

I've read some of the Virginia Tech studies on helmet performance...but the helmets are evolving so fast, the most recent report is outdated.
Personally, I would really like to see one of the SG's up close. If it actually protects the players the way it is designed, and is significantly lighter than the others...that could be a distinct advantage.

Insite is actually sensors that are placed inside the helmet and press up against the head. They send real time information to the sideline that can tell the trainers if a kid just took a hit to the helmet that is indicative of the type of blow that would cause a concussion. I'm really interested to see the feedback from our trainers after this year to see how it worked. So far he says its pretty sweet and not too touchy which was my biggest concern.

I've heard about the program. From my understanding, there were a huge volume of hits that exceeded the threshold of concern for potential trauma during any given practice...and that the cumulative smaller hits with no symptoms are gaining significance in the studies with regards to contribution.

That's what I would assume that it would show as well.
Bielema just said in his weekly media interview that they've had them installed for all three practices so far and it's only "buzzed" twice. They took both kids out immediately and checked them over and they were fine.

If we're really concerned about safety we should find a way to get rid of the HUNH
